Description: One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

“Fine Dining in a Relaxed Setting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

We recently booked Gramercy Tavern for my husband's birthday. Because of the high demand, we had a really early dinner reservation (5:30pm). We arrived on time and were immediately greeted and seated. We chose the 3 course menu and were very happy. The selections were interesting and the plating was really pretty. Also, the service was excellent but relaxed and not too formal. We lingered over our meal, coffee and dessert and never felt rushed. The snapper was particularly good! There were nice extras during the dinner as well and to top it off, a muffin to take home for breakfast! The tavern part of the restaurant also looked really fun and busy as we were leaving! We would definitely recommend this restaurant!

“the slight pretentiousness is worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

Any restaurant that calls you several times to get you to reconfirm on the phone an online reservation is very annoying since having to call back (if you happen to be busy when they called) to reconfirm a reservation is defeating the whole point of online reservations. If they have such a problem they ought to ask for a ccard when you reserve online and charge the no-shows. And they also don't open the main door until it is noon (for a noon weekday reservation) making those who come early hang out on the sidewalk.
But whatever frustrations you have disappear instantly when you walk in and the friendly precision kicks in. The service is very good, doesn't make you wait and the summer menu is refreshingly great. Highly recommend the visit.

“Fantastic lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

Difficult to get reservations for dinner so we went for lunch instead. Promptly seated and served. Smaller menu for lunch but still some amazing offerings and excellent cocktails. Will be going back.

“One of the best restaurants that we have eaten at”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

Gramercy Tavern is my wife's favourite restaurant of all time. The food served here is simply divine. The service is relaxed though efficient and always utterly courteous. It's expensive but then you get what you pay for, and the money spent on this meal was worth every penny and more. I had the steak and I will never forget it. Melt in the mouth! We highly recommend this place. It's more than a restaurant. The Gramercy Tavern is an institution in Manhattan
