This place is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The menu may seem limited, but you'll always get an outstanding dish. For this most recent visit, the staff asked if it was a special occasion when I made the reservation. I told them it wasn't, but that we'd be going to a concert afterwards, so our time was a bit limited. When we arrived, the receptionist greeted us and asked who we were going to see in concert that night. So the staff was prepared for us in advance, so professional.
Then there was our waitress, who was truly a delight, such a pleasant person, assisting us in choosing what to have, and checking on us from time to time, but not inserting herself too much into our evening. And, most important, getting us out in plenty of time to make our concert.
Now the food. We had an amazing little amuse bouche that I could have eaten like 20 more of; it was so good - herbed ricotta stuffed in a little pastry puff. I had a very good smoked trout appetizer with roast lamb as a main course - superbly done. My husband had a light & flavorful pasta appetizer with the pork main course. We finished these with some lovely desserts - a cookie selection that we ended up taking home for later, and a plum upside down cake that reminded me of my grandmothers. In the cookie selection, they had berry macaroons that were the very best macaroons I've ever had, EVER, along with some very good oatmeal cookies, chocolate cookies, and mini brownies.
You just can't go wrong at this place.
