I would love to call this a favorite spot: the food is wonderful, sophisticated and enticing. The service was both warm and elegant. We went for restaurant week and we could not have had any more attentive service. The flounder with "everything" crust in wild mushroom sauce with salsify was spectacular. The desserts were even better, light and decadent at the same time. DO order coffee, which comes with a basket of just made madeleines, still hot and slightly crusty. My hesitation on giving it a "best restaurant' review is that the atmosphere is SO SO stuffy and antiquated: UES clueless folks with evidence of way too much plastic surgery. They look like they have been there since the restaurant opened! Part of a great restaurant experience is a feeling of being in the heart of a trending (I don't mean trendy) place. DB, please move this great restaurant to a neighborhood that one would like to visit in the evening!
