Description: Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, Negril Village promises to entertain your soul as well as your palette in a hip & classy environment. The latest installment in the Negril chain specializes in Nu Caribbean cuisine or what is dubbed “New York Savvy Caribbean cuisine”. The menu embraces the cooking styles and techniques of destinations such as Trinidad (i.e. Chicken Roti), Puerto Rico (i.e. Island Paella), and of course Jamaica (i.e. Jerk Chicken and Ackee). Set on two levels, the restaurants décor can be described as contemporary yet natural. The spacious dining room, on the upper level, boasts bamboo floors and seashell lined walls; while the Rhum lounge, on the lower level, warms you with its raisin interior, red lacquer floors, and in-house DJ. Live Reggae, Calypso, and Latin bands will further enchant you as you sip one of Negril Village’s many tropical drinks.

“Hidden gem for the health conscious people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Yes this place is a hidden gem. This is a two levels restaurant: main and lounge. The main side is noisy and busy, the lounge is busy too but is niece and no kids. The food here is really tasty with an upscale presentation. We had fresh steam okra, salmon on a light mango sauce, quinoa with beans and plantain and could not help it, Jamaican bread pudding. Of course, you can over eat if you are not watching, but believe me their menu is variable. The service is a little slow because some dishes take a little longer to cook. Drinks are also good. Overall experience Excellent!!!!

“Great Place for friends to meet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

This was my third time at Negril and I must say, third time is the charm. Not once a bad experience. The staff is great, service is fast, food is awesome and when you go with friends or a friend, the experience is exceptional! I will certainly be back and will highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

“A little oasis in NYC...but needs to step it up a bit to truly represent the Caribbean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

Great place to have a taste of the Caribbean...in a bit of a gourmet style. But while the food is good, the price is a bit high! With average service...it really is challenging to pay $100 for 2 beers, 2 salads and 2 simple entrees. With no other real options tho I'll still come back.

“Husbands Birthday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Negril Village. The service was excellent. The waiter recommended the appetizers which was excellent. The drinks were awesome and Nuff liquor. We ordered our food everyone enjoyed their dinner. They all complemented on my excellent choice of resturant, and the staff, so nice. I have no complaints. The female DJ rocked the house she was killing the hip hop, reggae and R&B. Will return. Thanks Negril staff for a wonderful night to remember.
