“Great Tapas!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

Very cool restaurant. When we arrived we were quickly greeted. Host greeted us like he knew us. It was pooring outside so for some reason I expected all staff to be in a bad mood. All staff was incredible! We had a tight seating area after we walked through the kitchen. I also felt a little weird waking through the kitchen but it was cool seeing the kitchen in action. Waiter was very helpful and food was incredible. My girlfriend and I have been to several tapas place in other cities so we kind of pick through the menu and take our time. Waiter did not rush us wich was awesome. Would reccommend to all people. Strong drinks!

“Best Small Plates, wonderfully different”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

I'm not a fan of sharing a table with strangers, but the couple at the end had their champagne and eyes only for one another-- and once the first plate was put in front of us, we quickly turned our attention to one delectable dish after another.
I may not remember everything we tried, but here are the highlights:
Fried cauliflower--so very tasty, light and crisp with a raisin puree
Crispy brussels sprouts made different with apple slices and a light creme fraiche
Pulled pork empanadas were one of my favs-- served with a cilantro dipping sauce
Beef slider in Turkish Yufka pastry with a tasty spiced ketchup
Crunchy roasted chick peas--simple and delicious
My husband enjoyed Roasted Bass North African with a spiced yogurt, basil oil and butter fried shallots.
And, finally, something called "Spaghetti Pepperoncini Bottarga di Muggine, dried bonito & shrimp oil & radish sprout" (from their menu)-- it was DELICIOUS and sooo tasty.
All in all, every single dish was delightful... consumed the moment that it hit the table. I was impressed with the diversity of the offerings and the speed, food presentation and general dining experience.

“Delightful, social dinner option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

I went with work colleagues here on a Sunday night. Advertised as a tapas place, I was happy to see the amazing selection of small plates of all manner of cuisines well represented. The fried cauliflower, pulled pork empanadas, scallop cevice, brussel sprouts and slider and all manner of tasty pieces in between, met with approval. We shared all dishes between the 4 of us, and in all cases that worked well. The plates are real small plates and well priced as such.

We were also very please with the beverage selections, the wine list has a range of options including some more unusual ones, including a good variety of Madeira wines. I enjoyed a dry Austrian white that I had not seen before.

Service was efficient. once we ordered the small plates just kept on coming through dinner, so while we ordered plenty of dishes - about 15 or so between the 4 of us, they were staged to keep the table use efficient.

The restaurant's entrance is a half basement type entrance, so you have to look for it a little lwoer than you might expect. Just trust the house numbers beside it and you will find it fine. the interior and ambience are fantastic. Beautiful 2 story with a wrap around mezzanine. Loved the overview form the second floor. I found that we could carry on conversation easily without it having to get loud as somehow even in a full restaurant other diners sounds didn't seem to carry that much.

We found out that they only take Amex or actual cash. Happily one of us had Amex so we didn't have to dash for the bank around the corner.

All in all, a perfect New York evening.

“Very tasty food, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Hard to find (it doesn't have a sign) but worth it! The food was great and they have a gluten free menu if you need that. Intimate cozy atmosphere with a wood burning fireplace in the downstairs main room. Didn't give it 5 stars only because the tapas were pretty expensive for the size of the serving. Overall a great experience. If you want to go should probably make a reservation.

“Awesome (if a little exxy)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

This is a bit of a tapas style place, with a huge open two floor dining room out the back (don't be deceived by the size of the place as you enter or the aspect from the road - it's huge). Friendly staff and great food (modest size servings to distinguish itself from the usual American two kg main meals) but possibly a little expensive. We ended up spending $180 including tips and a bottle of wine, for two. But if you ignore price, you'll have a great meal in a beautiful environment.
