“Huge portions, average service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

My husband and I visited NYC for vacation in June, and while on a TV Movie Tour, the tour guide suggested El Quijote. We were dumbfounded at the amount of food we received! We visited around 3 PM, still eating off the lunch menu. My husband and I each got a separate dish, but we wish we would have just shared something (even sharing, there still would have been plenty leftover). Being on vacation, we just didn't have anywhere to keep leftovers. Four people could have eaten all the food included in the meal.

The prices were great, the food was great, but the service was a bit negligent after we were presented with our food. Maybe since it was a down time of the day all the employees were a little lax? We didn't get any refills after our meal was presented and it took at least 20 minutes after we finished eating to wave someone down to give us our check. There was no one in sight

“Amazing Food and Drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

We had the paella and shared it. It was huge, so we were glad we made that decision! It wasn't full of rice, which is the way that many restaurants serve it to make it look large. We also had the sangria, and it is the best sangria we have ever tasted. This is a real find in the city and isn't extremely expensive either.

“Great traditional Spanish cuisine, huge portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

Paella for me, huge portion with fresh shellfish and great chorizo. Grilled shrimp was great too, and so was best flan for dessert I have ever enjoyed. We will be returning to this historic place, no wonder it has been around since 1930.Great staff too.

“Middle of the Road”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

Welcome was a bark from a woman for me to take off my cap, nice. Food was average, we had lobster with extras and for the price it was OK, yet I feel better can be found in Chelsea area. Decor and service was good.

“Old Favorite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

Been going here for years. Highly recommend the Paella which is second to none. Great value, great service. Not the prettiest place in the world but the food here is top notch and a great value. Would recommend as the menue is expansive and the staff attentive. Good experience.
