If you like BBQ food then a visit here is a must. Staff very friendly & great atmosphere in the restaurant.

We had pulled pork, brisket & burnt ends....wow! Meat was so tender and melted in your mouth!

Excellent eatery - can't recommend highly enough

“Serious BBQ for Serious Smoke Fans.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013

If you're an aficionado of BBQ, and you specifically like barbecue from Texas or the Carolinas, you owe it to yourself to mosey on down to this shoebox eat-a-teria on lower 2nd Ave. I was skeptical until a fellow foodie pulled me in.

They are doing it right here- perfectly rubbed brisket, pulled pork, and ribs that fall to pieces from hickory smoke. A blend of sauces with just the right spice and kick. Meat that is cut to order in front of you in an assembly line that might frustrate you unless you've been to Katz's Deli.

The meat is weighed after each customer orders to insure proper serving size and tossed with a hint of salt. Don't whine about the price! A meal (ie, either a basic sandwich or meat served straight up such as brisket, burnt ends or pulled pork ) with slaw plus one side and a non-alcoholic drink will run you between $15-18, dino ribs cost extra. The golden triangle of management, "Good, Fast, Cheap: Pick TWO) applies here. The food is good and fast, it's NOT going to be cheap. But it's similarly priced to other BBQ in NYC, and it's delicious, portions are generous. Need we say more? I'm a big eater, and I'm stuffed when I finish a meal here, and ready for a food coma.

On warm days the storefront opens to 2nd Ave and the smell of the smoke and meat pulls people in as fast as they can smoke it.

Unlike so many other BBQ joints, the sides here are delicious and brilliant; prepare to share. The sweet potato casserole is a side that also resembles dessert, it's so sweet and tasty its criminal.

When the sides server asks you which "add-ons" you want, the question is for a taste of pickled cucumbers, celery, red onion, or chile pepper. I ask for a taste of each, as each brings out a different nuance in the brisket I have come to adore. You will also have to choose which cole slaw you'd like to accompany your dish, choosing between versions that feature either vinegar or mayo based on your preference. I suggest you get your group to take turns and have a tasting party, as both are delicious and complement the meat differently.

If you like house specialties, don't stop with the food. Try a homemade ginger ale, it is bound to put a smile on your face.

A very casual joint; don't expect table service (there is none) and you might have to wait for a table or enjoy a communal (shared) dining experience, but most tables are two-tops, not fours. Be warned, on one visit the smoke backfired through the restaurant and that might turn off a diner in a big way. I happened to just get hungrier.

Mighty Quinn's in a serious player in the BBQ industry. Go and taste for yourself.

“Average fast food BBQ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013 via mobile

Overall food was good. A bit on the spicy side for my taste regarding BBQ because of the dry rub they use. Very confusing ordering and seating. You MUST order before you are allowed to sit. We ordered two meats and two beers and two sides it was $40. Pricey for the serving size in my opinion.

“Brilliant - best meat you will eat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

We found this place on a website for my sons birthday treat as he loves pulled pork.

It isn't flash, and you can't book in advance. You just pitch up stand in a queue and get a seat in a industrial canteen style room. We went early around 5.30 - 6 pm as we were hungry and the food recharged us brilliantly.

First things first, the meat - WOW! My son had the pulled pork - brilliant, my wife had half a chicken, succulent and I had the beef brisket. Other reviews say the brisket can change your life - high praise indeed. My life hasn't changed but it came blooming close! All the meat is incredible - so juicy, falls apart and tastes incredible. The flavours are just perfect.

We added the slaw, burnt end beans and house fries - all a must especially the beans - WOW! They have small pieces of ends of meat - hence their name and are incredible!

Then you have a range of about 8 - 10 cask beers from around America and Europe to choose from, plus a range of bottled beers as well, home made lemonade and ginger beer to wash down the lovely food.

The price for the 3 of us for all the above, drinks and 2 ice cream sandwiches to finish came to about $45-50 (currently £31.25) which is fantastic value for such great food.

The only downside is they aren't in the UK! Finally, the music is brilliant - great rock from the 60 - 70's!
