On my first trip to Manhattan, I was in charge of organizing one meal and this was it. I'm from Texas and have my choice of great tex-mex food. I decided to choose flavors that were palate friendly and hit the jackpot with El Toro Blanco.
Drinks and Apps: We had strong, flavorful margaritas, perfect guacamole, and chips with three different salsas (mild, medium, and hot). Each salsa was different and I really liked that we had three options.
Mains: I ordered the skirt steak & cheese enchilada. I'm used to fajitas and assumed the steak would come with tortillas, but it didn't and I was glad about that. The meat was cooked to perfection and refined. The cheesy enchilada melted in my mouth and I savored each bite.
For dessert we split the tres leches with ice cream. It was a palate pleaser too. Next time I'd order one for each because I hate sharing when it's that tasty.
The waitstaff was great! They had plenty of help from the waitstaff to the bus boys. We never asked for anything. They were diligent with drink & chip refills.
The atmosphere was relaxed. You could dress up or down and still fit in with the Greenwich Village crowd. They had plenty of outdoor seating, but it rained that night.
Go here for great Mexican food.
