“Love it! Will stay here again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

This hotel is well-priced and well located right near Penn Station, MSG, and the 123 and ACE subway lines. I was worried about staying here since it is relatively cheap (by NYC standards), but I relied on the positive reviews here. I am glad I did...it fit our needs perfectly this weekend! If you are willing to be just a few subway stops from Lincoln Center, the West Village, Times Square, Central Park, etc, you will save a couple hundred bucks staying here as opposed to right in those neighborhoods. Yes, it is no-frills, but our room was clean, the bed was comfy, check-in was painless, and they have breakfast. Didn't get go try the rooftop lounge or fitness center. Best of all, I was totally panicked when I realized after checkout that I forgot my KindleFire in the safe...Isa at the front desk made sure it was retrieved and kept safe and sound until I could return to pick it up. Thanks again Isa! I will stay here again when visiting NYC, it is very convenient and friendly.

Hotel is located just around the corner from Penn Station, which was great, as we arrived by train from Newark. The lobby is huge and the hotel is only 6 months old. We loved the hot and cold breakfast and the eating area. Our room was small, but spotless (as was the entire hotel). The shower was really big. Internet was free, easy to get on, and didn't require a password. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Elevators were fast.
What they could improve on is better water pressure for the shower and a bigger sink area for toiletries.

First time staying at this property - doesn't feel like a typical Fairfield Inn. Room & bath was modern and very clean, bed extremely comfortable, a very extensive FREE breakfast. Beautiful roof top patio/bar. The location was great - I was in town for event at MSG. This place is literally across the street from the back side of the Garden. And the entrance to Penn Station, if you wanted to jump on the subway. There was a parking garage right next door to hotel. The only negative was walking back from Theatre District at night, there were a few blocks it seemed a little seedy. But, it's NYC. So get a cab or take the subway. All in all, a very good value, would definitely stay here again.

The Fairfield was "kinda" right in the middle of things. I was just far enough away for to get caught up in the throngs of all the madness in Manhatten, yet just close enough to get lost in it completely!! The hotel is nicely decorated, and the deli that is just around the corner is awesome! The staff was very sweet, especially Daryl...he was the Valet...and arranged a ride to the airport for us. When we came back to the hotel early, he arranged for the service to come early, so we didn't have to wait in the lobby.

Room Tip: we were on the 18th floor. It can get kind of tricky waiting for an elevator in the morning. Staying...

A recently opened updated hotel convenient to restaurants, subway and parks.
Well equipped gym, and large enough not to feel cramped as many are.
Hotel serves a better than average breakfast bar but the 24 hr Tic Tock Diner and close by Stage Doir Restaurant certainly supplement.
US Post Office across the street.
I suggest a front facing room as with ATT cellular we had reception difficulties with an inside room. Front facing was fine.
Nice staff, very clean , well run.

My favorite place to stay in NYC when I travel with family is lower Manhattan but this place can't be beat for a business traveler who has to go into NJ -- which I did -- and still wants to do city things, for example.
It is a new hotel so it is very clean and nicely furnished -- right across from the post office and a three minute walk to Penn Station, but I was still surprised that they had the good value free breakfasts that most Fairfield Inns do across the country. If they didn't have it, I still would have raved about it, but this made it even better. Plus, an added bonus is the rooftop bar, which has spectacular views and great for hosting people you want to meet with. I had a nice view from my room on the 16th floor that looked over the New Yorker building and was very satisfied with my stay. If I have to come back to the city on business this would currently be my first choice. Very convenient and reliable quality.

Room Tip: 16th floor was nice!

Excellent hotel in Manhattan. Right around the corner from Penn Station, and a bit off the beaten path, but large rooms, DELICIOUS free breakfast (eggs, sausage, bagels, cereal, milk, yogurt, oatmeal, etc etc.), and quick and easy check-in, check-out. Very impressed - none of the usual Manhattan problems (small rooms, dark halls, etc.).
