The Jade was found on Trip Advisor. Some of the sites said there were no rooms, so I called. The receptionist convinced me to stay in a slightly larger room than the standard. With the comments online about the small rooms we decided to upgrade to the larger gueen room. The room is still extremely small. The proportions of the room are unusual and it is so narrow it is hard to walk by the bed without getting banged by the frame. The room was very dark. There was not enough lighting. The art decoration decor was charming but did not make up for the size of the room.
The hotel is in a fun area of the City and near great restaurants. The Jade has a wonderful bar. They have happy hour that is classy. The servers are polite and friendly.
When we arrived it was in the middle of a main water break. We had a hard time getting to the hotel. Within one day the internet, tv and phones went out. The people at the front desk told us to go to Starbucks as if this was a normal thing to do. My husband asked if we would be compensated for the inconvenience but the young receptionist acted as though he was insulting her. We are both dependent upon the web for work and do not plan on camping out at Starbucks. We found another hotel and left paying full fare.
This is an example of how not to treat your customers. They are a young hotel but it is no excuse for treating customers this way. It is not inexpensive for the size of the rooms. Think if a college dorm room...even small for New York.
The entry to the hotel and the restaurant are lovely. Hopefully they can change things in time.
