“Yummy ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

Great, fresh, seafood. Service a bit sparse, but really surprised with the quality and taste of the food. Especially after living in NYC for 10 years, I like being pleasantly surprised. Will definitely return. The only improvement I would make is the dessert menu.

“Go here for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013 via mobile

...and be sure to have whatever soup they have that day. It was heavenly! Food is fresh, well prepared and presented, great service, rather pricey but what do you expect in Manhattan? We will definitely be back.

“The Crave lives on...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

My husband and I came here for the first time with another couple. I must say we'll come back here again. Aside from the ambiance, we enjoyed the food here. The welcome was very warm from the owner and staff members. The place was crowded but didn't interfere with our conversations. Our waitress of the night was a good listener lady. Happy hour here means you could be happy for hours. Try the oysters for $1 each. We ordered 2 dozens to start [I also got some shells to take home woohoo! *:) perfect for seashells collector like me], then we continued with appetizers. Then I ordered salmon for entree. Everything's perfect! Highly recommended. My craving lives on...

“Wonderful meal, service and price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013 via mobile

My wife and i were in town from boston and followed a relatives recommendation. The fish was incredibly fresh, tasty and uniquely prepared. Really reasonable prices for a nice nyc restaurant. Quick service. Every table full and needed a reservation. Strong recommendation.

“This place left us craving it again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

Crave Fishbar is not at all what the name might imply. When I heard it, I thought sushi. Quite to contrary, Crave Fishbar is a restaurant which features fish and seafood, but which has a more diverse menu than I'd expected. Just because you aren't in the mood for fish doesn't mean you should pass this place up. We visited twice because, even though there are a myriad of restaurants in New York, our first experience was so tasty we had to return to try more! The appetizers and salads are delicious (between the four of us we tried quite a bit) and the portions are generous. I would recommend the grilled octopus, the prawns, the heirloom tomato salad and/or the cauliflower soup from the "Firsts" section of the menu. As a "Second," the merluza, halibut, scallops, lobster curry, and strip steak were all delicious. While the appearance of this restaurant may be unassuming, don't underestimate the thoughtfulness of the preparation and the pairing of items in each course. There is nothing random slopped on a plate here. Everything is planned and prepared to enhance the overall experience and bring the whole dish together into one fabulous dining experience.

For alcohol lovers, this place has a decent wine list, and the cocktails are very good. Our cocktails came in triple old-fashioned glasses, so no skimpy, wimpy drinks here!! We ordered some more complicated cocktails and every one of them was done perfectly.

There is seating at the back of the first floor, which may be the quietest in the house. They have a fairly large upstairs dining room and a bit of outdoor seating on both levels which looks at 2nd Avenue. If you're looking a quiet dinner, this may not be your place because the restaurant is pretty energetic and the front opens to the street in warmer weather.

All in all, Crave Fishbar is an excellent choice for festive cocktails and a delightful dining experience.
