We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Refinery. The hotel is exquisite, tucked on a quiet street off 6th Avenue, and only a hop, skip and jump ( excuse the rabbit references, we were there for Easter weekend) from The shopping Mecca of Macy's and the bright lights of Time Square.
The decor of The Refinery , once a Hat factory, I believe, is cool and sophisticated, however the welcome we received was a polar opposite. The front desk staff were so warm and welcoming, with a genuine interest in the guests, even commenting on my sisters hat as a nod to the history of the building.
The extra special touches like my birthday card, bottle of wine and cake were absolutely fabulous and so thoughtful. I would like to mention Annie, who lights up the check in with her friendly smile and charming manner. Her personal message left on the telephone answering machine was, in my opinion above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you.
My mum, sister and I although of different generations would unanimously agree that The Refinery met all of our needs and exceeded our expectations.
If you do stay, trust me on this one..... GO TO THE ROOFTOP BAR!!!! I will say no more, find out for yourselves ;-)
