“Casual, Modern Luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

My husband and I stayed at the Refinery Hotel on our wedding night in the beginning of June. We live in Manhattan, and with the endless hotel choices here in the city we were looking for a boutique hotel that was smaller and unique. We found the Refinery Hotel and it could not have been more perfect for us. The hotel itself is GORGEOUS – the décor is both modern and rustic. There are candles everywhere creating an intimate, yet casual feel. From the minute you walk in the door the staff is attentive without being over the top. We stayed in a suite that provided us with all of the modern luxuries that you would want and expect in a brand new hotel, plus the added bonus of super cool artwork and a fabulous view. Our suite was HUGE, with high ceilings, a large living room area, a large modern bathroom, and the entire room operated on a state of the art control system on the wall. The hotel is immaculate, and the rooms are BIG – two must haves when choosing a hotel in a city where you don’t get much space for your money. Besides our fabulous room, we also had our after party at the hotel’s restaurant, Parker & Quinn, and it was the perfect spot to cap off an amazing night. Since our wedding, we have had dinner at the hotel restaurant, and drinks at their spectacular rooftop (the views are TO DIE FOR)- both spots just make this hotel that much more appealing. This is truly a luxury hotel with a personal feel – there is no pretentiousness here. We cannot recommend the Refinery Hotel highly enough!

We stayed for 8 days and can't say enough about the service at the Refinery. Super friendly and accommodating. Staff greeted us by name each time they saw us. Entire staff made you feel you mattered even when having a high profile celebrity party at the rooftop bar. Speaking of the rooftop bar---the view of ESB cannot be beat!! Afternoon complementary wine was a wonderful greeting when coming back from a busy day in NYC. One night we arrived back from a show and did not want to go out. We went into Parker & Quinn and ordered to go which was delivered hot & delicious to our room. I look forward to returning and would more than recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The only drawback is there was no place to hang your clothes. Closet just has cubes for stacking clo...

I really don't have anything bad to say about this hotel except the couple of times we had cleaning staff come in while we were in the room. We didn't have a do not disturb sign like the rest of the rooms. I guess there are some things that needed to be done while it is a new hotel. However that didn't deter me from having a lovely experience at this hotel. The staff were great to me and my family. They upgraded my room to a king size studio. The room was huge and beautiful. All it needed was a kitchen and I could live there. I don't think I could look at another NYC hotel if I came back again. The sleep was comfortable and I love the 12 foot ceilings, it made it feel like a lofty New York feel to it.
Parker and Quinn is a good restaurant to eat. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but I'd rather spend a little more for quality.

Unique and innovative interior design and careful attention to detail in lobby and rooms. Love the desks that mimick old Singers and bathroom tile and fixtures. Rooftop bar view of Empire State at night is a must but get there before midnight because they don't let you outside after, although the roof of the interior bar retracts. Late dinner at attached restaurant was also excellent. The rate was competitive with other area hotels but I imagine it will go up after it's open for a bit longer so go now!

From start to finish this was a seamless and easy experience. Lauren helped me with booking to the nth degree. Upon arrival, we were greeted personally and professionally. Our room was beautiful and they even acknowledged our anniversary with a personal handwritten note, a bottle of wine and mini cupcakes (delish). The rooftop bar is "to die for"....great for relaxing, chilling, etc. Oh, and the bed?? Unbelievably comfy....All around great experience, start to finish. This is a new hotel, and I hope it stays this way. We will definitely be back, and try the restaurant this time. Thanks to all at The Refinery.

I found the Refinery hotel through Trip Advisor! And what a great find... Excellent clean spacious room, friendly staff, and great cocktails at the bar. I would recommend this hotel for anyone going to NYC...

We recently stayed at The Refinery Hotel in July. The hotel staff was wonderful and so friendly and eager to please. We stayed in a Queen Suite with two beds and has so much room. The rooms were so quiet and the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The location was the best. Just a few blocks away from Time Square and the Theatre District. We walked back to the hotel everynight after we saw a show and we felt very safe doing so. I will stay here again next time I visit NYC.
