“Location slightly dodgy....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

Great value for money if you don't want to spend a lot on a hotel in Times Square, location was near to subway, and lots of bars and cafés, and near to shops, but would not feel comfortable walking around area late at night. Hotel itself was very trendy and comfortable, with very clean modern room and bathroom. Staff were helpful. Ate a few times in the retro bar and grill, service was slow, didn't mind too much as we were in no hurry, and food was good. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't mind exploring other areas than the mainstream.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

I really had no complaints about this hotel stay so gave it a 5-star rating. It had all of the things I need when I am staying for a brief vacation. It was immaculate, the bed was comfortable (king-size), subway stop 2 short blocks from hotel, free street parking nearby, free WiFi and close to restaurants, bars and shopping attractions in the LES.

Yes, the rooms are small but our room was quiet (facing small courtyard and just around the corner from the elevator) and very clean/comfortable. The area is a little sketchy but lots of people traffic. We could have parked on the street (across Delancey St from the hotel but decided to pay $31 for overnight parking in fenced-in lot) as I thought more security was worth the price than worrying if my car was going to be broken into. Tons of great restaurants and cool stores of the LES within 10 minute walk. Great price as well on another hotel site made this visit even better. Staff was friendly, wiFi worked well. Shower was small but good water pressure and heat. I would definitely stay here again.

Greetings kt3,

Thank you for your terrific 5 Star Review and for taking the opportunity to share your most recent stay with us. It is delighting to read that your stay with us was perfect and memorable. Our priority is to ensure our guests feel at home and relaxed while they are with us. We recommend Central Parking because it is open 24 hours, located just two blocks away from our hotel. The Lower East Side is an amazing neighborhood, and I certainly agree that there are so many wonderful restaurants and stores to visit and explore. Bringing comfortable walking shoes is definitely a must. Thank you again for your recommendation. Please don't forget to give us a call in advance for your next booking. Until next time!

Right on several subway lines and in a very interesting part of NY. Some great local bars and cafes nearby and hotel is in walking distance to Chinatown/Little Italy/East Village and SOHO areas.

Staff was very friendly and breakfast was very good - a good choice and lots of food.

It was easy to get to JFK Airport and all areas of New York.

Rooms were very clean and excellent free internet etc.

I would stay here again.

Price was good, location was really really nice (in the LES trendy neighbourhood and half a block from a Essex metro station), everything is new, staff were awesome (they let us do early check in), check in and out were super fast, shower is great... BUT... room gets very noisy at night, so noisy we couldn't sleep, even when the bed was really comfortable: the AC heating unit is like 30-40 cm from the bed (12 in), and it goes ON and OFF all night long, making disturbing loud noises. The street, 5 flights below, was really noisy also, with cars and trucks (big avenue). The room feels crowded. So I can't recommend this hotel and not planning to stay here again. It's a shame, because everything else is really nice.

Room Tip: Rooms in high floor not facing Delancey St.

Hello Antoine_K_10,

First and foremost, I would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you have encountered throughout your stay. Our Holiday Inn staff strives to ensure that our guests feel safe and comfortable while they are with us and it is dissatisfying to hear otherwise. Our hotel has rooms that face Delancey Street, Suffolk Street and the back of the hotel. Rooms facing the back towards our patio tend to be the quietest, however all of our guests have different requests. Some actually prefer to face Delancey to have a nice city view. Our HVAC Units are not known to make disturbing loud noises. Perhaps there was a hiccup in the system configuration that caused it to switch on and off, however, our engineers would have been more than happy to assist you with this to ensure you get your good night sleep. We hope you decide to stay with us once again and allow us to make it up to you. Please give us a call in advanced for your next booking and we will ensure that your next stay with us is flawless.

This hotel is really well located in the lower east side of Manhattan! You have subway stations only 2min from the hotel, so you can go to any part of Manhattan to visit stuff! As well, the area just behind the hotel is really cool with a lot of bars/pubs really interesting and without too much tourists! In the hotel, the staff is really friendly and helpful! We had a room on the 4th floor, just in front of elevators so a bit noisy! But the noisiest thing was the ice maker, this is really annoying! By the way, rooms are really well isolated from outside, so you shouldn't have too much noise! I'll definitely recommend this hotel!

I snapped this up at a great price back in June for a week over New Year and was delighted with the Holiday Inn.

Room size was ideal for a couple and both main room and bathroom were perfect. Good sized bed, nice shower room and TV with plenty of English options to choose when necessary. Staff were helpful and polite and although we pretty much only slept here we were comfortable at all times.

Incredible city to bring in 2014 to and we;ve come back exhausted but with memories to last a lifetime.

Thanks Holiday Inn Manhattan

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014 via mobile

My mom and I stayed here the first weekend in December and had a very positive experience. Upon arrival I was surprised to find out we had been upgraded to a room on the top floor. The room was very clean and had a very comfy king size bed (rare in NYC) and a modern closet and desk. The bathroom was on the small side, but had a nice walk in shower, and the sink had plenty of storage space for cosmetics. This is by far the nicest and most modern Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in. I found it nice to stay in a more quiet residential neighborhood to escape the crowds, but the touristy areas were always accessible via the subway stop out the front door. I would also recommend this hotel based on the staff, who were always friendly and willing to answer questions.
