“Nice Hotel on the city !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

This is a nice clean hotel with helpful staff. Rooms are clean, well furnished, and larger that your average New York City typical hotel room. The hotel is located on a busy section of the city and could be noisy, it is also just across from Queens via the Williamsburg bridge.

We had a great stay near the Lower East Side Tenement museum with good dining and walking to nearby sights. Desk Staff were especially friendly and the facilities were new and clean and very comfortable. Very good value compared to nearby hotels. Would highly recommend and would come back here again!

Room Tip: Our room on the back was very quiet.

A very friendly and pleasant hotel. Staff were courteous and greeted you with a smile every time we saw them. Situated in a perfect spot as I wished to explore LES, East Village and Williamsburg. Some very good cheap bars and restaurants around this area including The Meatball Shop and Katz's Deli just 2 or 3 blocks away.

After all this a Holiday Inn and not The Ritz and you get exactly what you pay for. If you have seen all of the touristy stuff in NYC then I would wholeheartedly recommend this place as a base to explore the rest and best NYC has to offer. Subway is 2 mins walk and Williamsburg Bridge on the doorstep for a lovely walk across to Brooklyn.

Can't fault it and didn't try to.

This is a brand new hotel in a location close to Williamsburg bridge and close to the Lower East Side bar district. I made the wrong reservations and ended up here accidentally. I originally wanted the one in SoHo. But luckily, every Holiday Inn is about the same. The room is great and we slept well. Even though it is on a busy street, we slept like a baby. What I liked about this hotel is that it is close to a lot of great restaurants and bars ranging from high end to cheap eats. Since we drove to NYC this time, parking right across the street was very convenient and about $10 cheaper than most other parking garages. Service was great. My room didn't come with breakfast but I was given complimentary breakfast coupons that I couldn't use because I slept in past 10.

Brand new hotel... they are still getting their sea legs a bit but I'd stay there again, especially as I found the price to be quite competitive for a NYC hotel of this quality.

Good things:
1. Rooms were not gigantic but neither were they postage stamp size, which tends to be the trend at newer boutique hotels like the Hudson for instance.
2. Staff was terrific in their attitude all three days of my stay... staff members in the elevator would say "have a nice day", and the front desk answered the phone from the room in seconds. Special complements to Anthony L at the front desk for his willingness to "get it right".
3. Rooms (I ended up using two diff rooms) were appointed very nicely... great TV with lots and lots of outlets everywhere you looked... too rare in older hotels.
4. Clean elegant bathroom.
5. Very comfortable bedding, with great reading light setup!
6. Very easy walk to the Essex St Subway Station at Essex and Delancey. I keep hear that this neighborhood is trendy but didn't get a chance to walk around this trip. This was my first time staying in the LEC despite having been to NYC 25+ times on business. It isn't Chelsea exactly but it is very nice indeed.

Bad things:
1. Internet - My first room could not pickup a proper internet signal but I believe this to have been a defective router in that part of the hallway. It took a long time to convince their 3rd party internet provider that the problem was NOT with my own various WiFi devices. When Anthony came upstairs to check his own cell phone for a WiFi connection, he confirmed my own finding, and promptly moved me to a new room. (He was very gracious, and offered me a choice of various rooms, on the same floor). The new room was much better with the internet when using my iPad. My Windows PC on the other hand kept dropping the connection every few minutes (it doesn't do this other places) but I could reconnect with not much trouble. So I was glad to have moved.
2. Plumbing - I was on the 8th (almost top) floor and I could hear the pipes clanging a bit from the bathroom. Closing the bathroom door at night did help mitigate this noise about halfway. Anthony was willing to move me again to a lower floor but it was not annoying enough to keep me awake. Wasn't anxious to move a 2nd time anyhow.
3. Hallway talk - it is easy to hear hallway noise. Two hotel workers were apparently insensitive to this and were talking in full volume voices at 1am one morning and this was easily audible. Easy to fix with better training.

The good outweighs the bad in this hotel for certain. They are new so one has to expect a few issues while they learn the types of complaints they are going to get and how to address them. Happy to come back to this hotel - I would simply request a room below 8 to avoid the plumbing noise, and a room in a corner which should be a bit quieter.

Hard to complain too much, since I got a low last minute rate. Brand new hotel, in a great location as close as you can be to a subway stop and a short two minute walk to the restaurants/bars of the LES (and Katz's deli!) Nicely appointed but tiny rooms, especially for a 'full' Holiday Inn. I would guess about 200 square feet. We had a king room, with less than 1 foot between the side of the bed by the window and the wall/air conditioner and about three feet between the end of the bed and the dresser/desk. Good soundproof windows, but inadequate soundproofing between rooms. We could easily hear our neighbor's TV. Still going through some teething pains with staff learning the ropes and several minor service hiccups, including free-on-demand cable that wasn't working. However, all the staff were pleasant and helpful. If you can get a good rate, worth looking into.
