“Wonderful find in poor neighborhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

Even the cleaned-up version of Times Square is pretty dreadful so finding good food when you're there for a conference can be tough. CaVa, like Todd English's other restaurant, offers nicely prepared food in a really attractive atmosphere. The menu is kept small, but each item is beautifully prepared. My beet salad appetizer was not only delicious but also beautifully presented in the shape of a very large sushi roll. I was equally impressed with the sea bass and its lentil side dish. The meal was made even nicer by the fact that the staff carefully seated the larger groups near the bar while seating couples and individuals along the far wall.

“An evening out with friends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

We really enjoyed our evening out with friends here. They booked the restaurant for us and we were very pleased with their choice. The portions are more than enough to fill you up, you will not go away hungery. Excellent meal here and their deserts are wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant.

“A truly poor experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

The food in the restaurant was at best 'average'.
The head waiter was quite aloof.
With only a handful of tables eating - the a-fore mentioned waiter constantly had to be reminded what we had ordered and be chased for 'sides'. He seemed continually interested on what was going on elsewhere in the restaurant and bar even when taking our orders.
As the restaurant is adjoining the hotel bar I think the choice of music playing was for the bar clientele rather than the restaurant - trying to cater for the two groups creates a weird dining atmosphere - rock and pop music playing whilst an snooty waiter pretends he's working at the Ritz.

“2013 Restaurant Week at Ca Va ... What a Deal !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

We really enjoyed lunch at Ca Va Brasserie during restaurant week. First of all, our server was awesome. He wasn't pushy and did a great job of steering us to the best dishes on the menu. We both chose the sea bass. It was served over garlicky spinach and quinoa. Delicious! For dessert, we both had the fruit crisp which was also delicious. Sea bass for $25 in NYC... can't beat it!

“Bring back the Breakfast Menu”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

At breakfast you have no choice but to take the 29$ Buffet Breakfast, a la carte is not available anymore. Add 2 Fried Eggs you pay extra. 18% service is included to the bill, you cannot decide if the service was good or bad, the breakfast selection is average, you would expect a wider choice at at Todd English restaurant. At lunch the Onion Soup is still particularly good.
