How i wished that i had read the reviews on here before booking this hellhole but having been travelling a lot over the past 3 years and using Expedia they can normally be relied upon to present places that are value for money. I don't know how in the world this nightmare building made its way on to a reputable site like Expedia. The reviewer who stayed in May 2005 is spot on, in fact i think i stayed in the same room on the dreaded 4th floor which was more than depressing (filth and disease are two words that spring to mind) Its true about the stairs, lugging two cases up them i genuinely thought they were going to collapse! The place is so run down i honestly dont know how the owners live with themselves although there probably too busy counting the profits of unfortunate travellers to care as the maintenance on this place is zero. I can't believe someone stayed here and gave it the thumbs up, either the reviewer is used to sleeping in the gutter or they have a sick sense of humour and want other people to suffer as well. The sign offering no refunds at the front desk says it all, once you've booked your screwed! I had a great time in New York, how can you not but there is always this scary place to tarnish my memory. Please pay a little bit extra and find another hotel, anything is better than this hole.
