Wife and I reserved a 4 night stay Dec 5-8 with our Wyndham points. I'd read the other reviews and was concerned, so I emailed ahead, stating some requests. We arrived, checked in easily, found our room (Queen Studio 2206) ready for us. Everything worked, was clean, view was descent, elevators worked fine, and most importantly the staff was helpful, friendly, and kind. We never encountered a staff member in the elevator or a hall, or anywhere else, where we were not greeted courteously. Although 2206 was apparently not totally renovated, the kitchen was all new, and like I mentioned above, everything was clean, comfortable, and operational with one exception...the Heat/AC control kept the room a little too warm for us, so we unlocked and cracked the window to compensate & control the temp and did just fine. I failed to mention...that several reviews mentioned noise in the hallways, etc - we heard VERY little. I'd check back in tonight if we were in Manhattan and desiring lodging. Thank you to the staff for making our stay enjoyable.

Checked in and the room was not made up. Went to dinner, came back and still not clean.....too late to have it cleaned so some maintenance persons brought up sheets and pillows.....we had to make our own bed???
Light over the desk was stuck in the on position (fire hazard)....and it never got fixed after many calls. Third night we come back to our room and there are no hand towels...also, the toilet paper had run out. You have to be kidding?? Too bad, great location in NY but they have to get it together.

This hotel is a fairly recent acquisition by Wyndham and they are open while they are still doing renovations. As such, if you are someone that cannot tolerate any rough edges this hotel is not for you, at least not yet. It is also part Wyndham hotel and part Wyndham timeshare. For both parts some rooms are renovated and some aren't. As a hotel you can't beat the room rates right now for something in this location, especially for the unrenovated rooms. As a timeshare room you can't get anything else in this location.

We stayed here as Wyndham timeshare owners and we had a renovated 1 bedroom Presidential Suite on the 18th floor. Lovely room with hardwood floors and modern decor. Our mini kitchen was almost the same as a full. It had upscale Subzero appliances and only lacked an oven but we did have a microwave that was also a convention oven. Kitchen seemed well equipped and had everything I wanted except a blender.

My rating of the Midtown 45 is as I felt it rated as a timeshare. The staff seems to be trying hard with the current limitations. We loved the location and walked to Times Square, the Theater District, Bryant Park, the UN, Radio City, Rockerfeller Center, 5th Avenue and much more. Only a few blocks to Grand Cenral Station.

If you stay here check out the lounge on the 33rd floor for great day and night views of the Chrysler and Helmsley buildings.

Nothing good. Old hotel, poor service. However, most of the hotels in NYC are like that. We spent around USD 390 / night. This region don´t have too many hotels and we needed to be close to the United Nations, thats why we were in this hotel. For the same poor quality you can find cheaper options.

Firstly let get one thing clear. This hotel is in a great location. A couple of blocks from Grand Central, so easy to get anywhere.
Secondly, the room was clean and comfortable, and everything worked.
But the reasons for the less than enthusiastic review are simple:
1). This is very expensive for what is effectively a 2-3 star hotel. $ 1000 for a 2 night stay. No breakfast, no coffee facilities in the room, no common areas, just a room and a lobby.
2) There is no facility to store your luggage after check-out (even at a price), so if you have a late flight you are going to be dragging a suitcase around NY all day!
3) The free WiFi is there, but the free version is VERY slow. If you want a reasonable speed, you will be asked to pay.

I recently stayed at this property when I was in town for the NYC marathon. I was so thrilled that it was an option because hotels can get extremely pricey. The location was perfect in that it is only a couple blocks from Gran Central. If you are a Wyndham Timeshare owner you are not going to get all of the extra space like you would at other resorts but the interiors have been upgraded quite a bit. There was a balcony off of the bedroom and living room. It didn't have much of a view but it was also very cold outside so I didn't use it. Bathroom was your standard size hotel bathroom but there was a TV in there!

Front desk staff wasn't super friendly but not rude either. There is no restaurant inside but there are tons in the area and there's a pub right next door.

Now that I know this property is there I will be making more frequently trips to the city

This resort is not the most amazing of all the Wyndham resorts we've stayed in but the LOCATION is AMAZING. You are so close to Grand Central terminal it makes going just about anywhere in NY super easy. There are also amazing little delis and gourmet food shops all around. The accommodations here are decent, clean and efficient. Nothing too fancy but very good. The fridge is a decent size, the showers are nice and clean. The TV in the bathroom was useless, odd and didn't even work. The rooftop lounge area is awesome and you get great views of the city from up there. Be sure to check it out. The beds are super comfy- and linens are that wonderful Wyndham standard. We didn't spend much time in our room- we were out enjoying the wonderful city from sunup to midnight or later every day!

It down-poured one day while we were in NY and the hotel has complimentary umbrellas you can use, do don't go out and buy one. The employees are reasonably friendly. There was one employee in particular that was so helpful and nice. I feel bad that I don't remember her name, but she helped us decide what mode of transportation to take when/where depending on traffic. She even walked out to the main street, hailed a cab for us, and made sure we weren't getting ripped off on the rate.

It really does not get much better than this for New York location wise! I would most definitely recommend this to my family and friends.

Room Tip: There is one room that has a balcony. I am not sure which it is- but it is a one bedroom. We met a c...
