“Disastrous”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

There is something very positive of the hotel. People are just very nice, and they try to provide you with the right service. Unfortunately...

1. Elevator took 15 minutes to reach floor 28. Only Elevator 1 was working

2. Three times they tried to change the key to my room, it didn´t work.

3.. The phone besides the bed doesn´t work.

4. The furniture is old and darn ugly.

Very poor bet for Wyndahm. They should have never bought this property. Service is right, in fact pretty good. It will take them millions of dollars to make this property at least decent.

Room Tip: Lowest floor posible. The elevator takes forever.

It’s the details that can make all the difference in a person’s stay and it’s disappointing to learn when someone leaves less than thrilled with some aspects of their stay. We sincerely regret any inconveniences you may have experienced. Thank you for sharing your experience and for your kind words about our staff, we hope to regain your trust to visit with us again.

The suite was lovely, the view great, of both the river and the Chrysler building really good. Unfortunately they nearly killed me. I had asked for hypoallergenic bedding and when I checked in, the first thing the desk said to me, was not to worry all the bedding was hypoallergenic. I was having a fabulous trip and each day as I woke up sicker, ignored it. Eyes got swollen, couldn't breath, soldiered on. after 3rd horrible night was leaving and looked at pillows- all were Down. On the plane landing my eardrum hurt so much I lost hearing for hours. My friend complained after I left- they said they would send an apology-which never happened. My friend also left a letter to be mailed at the front desk (had a museum card to be returned) which never made it back to its owner. Maybe with new staff-but for time being- stay away.

Friendly staff and clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. It's rated 4-star which is pretty accurate for NYC, (it would be a 31/2 elsewhere but New York city has it's own standards). We were surprised to find a kitchenette- although we did not have any use for it, it was nice to buy our own water and keep it cool. Definitely get a sandwich from the Amish Market next door.

Room Tip: We stayed in a basic suite on the 14th floor- see if you can get a room room there

For travelers who need wifi, DO NOT stay in this hotel. It will never work, and they charge $15 a day. Hotel staff cannot help as they do not even attempt to assist or follow up. They will transfer you to their external provider and expect you to work it out with them.
Service, what service? No warmth at all. They do not use your name, call you by your room number, do not greet, do not smile, and do not offer help. If you attempt to ask them a question or address an issue, all you get is foul looks from them. I guess at least I know they are not fake.
Room needs severe maintenance although room is very spacious and comfortable.
There are so many points I can add on to this review, but I cannot be bothered with a hotel that does not even try.
Pros: Location and spacious room
Cons: Everything else

Room Tip: You will never get a quiet room. I had a corner room but corridor is narrow and staff talk so loud...

Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions of our Midtown Hotel. It is thoroughly disappointing to learn when a guests' stay does not live up to their expectations in all ways and, despite the change on guestroom accommodations, you were not impressed at every turn. It is always our hope that our guests have the best stay possible and we apologize if we did not achieve that for you.

I especially liked this hotel because of the room. Its a boutique hotel but you can see that they utilize the space very wisely and designed it very well. There was a living room and bedroom which was nice for a 1 week stay. The bathroom was a bit small. Very modern and trendy feelings without it being overwhelming. I would definitely stay here again.

My friends and I decided to take in a show on Broadway and after reading some of the reviews, I was a little skeptical, about the Wyndham Midtown 45 located at 205 West 35th Street (between 7th Ave & 8th Ave). We opted for the penthouse suite and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was along with the views of Midtown Manhattan.

This hotel is in a Great location! One block from Macy's, a short walk to Times Square, and conveniently located near NY Penn Station. There is one king bed in each room but plenty of space for a NYC hotel, and breakfast was included. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely pleasant and if you need anything just ask for Ivo, he is a gem!
