“Great value and ideal location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

My wife and I stayed at the Maritime on our trip to NYC for New Years eve. We booked the hotel based on reviews from this site and it did not disappoint. Location was perfect, room was lovely and clean and the staff were very friendly while still being casual. Overall great value for money and would definitely stay there again.

I stayed here one night for a short NYC fix. The location is fantastic and except for a trip to Brooklyn we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. It's across the street from Chelsea Market and the Highline and walkable to the Meatpacking District, Greenwich Village, and lower mid-town. There is a subway one block away. The hotel's ship's theme is well carried out, including in the rooms which are small and dark (not a positive for my taste). The common areas are also very darkly lit, but there is an outstanding outside patio to sit and have a drink or snack and well designed restaurants and bars. I personally wouldn't choose to stay here again as there are so many hotel choices that I find more visually interesting, but it was good overall and very well-situated for anything downtown.

I've stayed at the Maritime several times with friends and also with my boyfriend. It used to be my go to hotel in NYC until i decided to explore other ones. What i like the most is definitely the location: you can't beat it! Everything is close by and within walking distance.
The interior design is on point and love the maritime concept, all the way down to the windows. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is also very good. Can't recommend enough their hot chocolate with the huge piece of marshmallow: to die for! Room service is also very efficient.
Very nice hotel, really recommend it!

Was looking for a hotel in the Meatpacking/Chelsea district. The art deco cruise ship vibe is cool and laid back. There are lots of model types staying here and a ecclectic crowd. The restaurant and bar are fine and laid back too. It gets a tad loud on Sat, so I would recommend a higher floor with a view of the Hudson river. Marvis toothpaste and Biegelow products are a great touch as is the round 5 ft portal windows. Plus you are right across the street from the Chelsea Market, the High Line and close to the Piers. Seriously, what else do you want?

Room Tip: River view, higher floor

I am use to staying uptown in NYC when I visit for business or pleasure, but I have to say I loved the Chelsea/Meatpacking district so much more. The Maritime was a great hotel and the staff were super friendly and helpful in pointing me in the right direction. I had the flu while I was visiting for work, so I had the pleasure of ordering room service from the hotel and everything I had was amazing and brought up very quickly. I also loved the provided products in the bathroom from Co Bigelow & Co. The room was small but had an amazing view of the Hudson river and the sunset from my port hole window was not to be missed! I will for sure stay here again as the hotel was funky and comfortable and the area was great for walking around in.

Room Tip: Ask for river view

We stayed at the Maritime over the 4th of July holiday. The views of the fireworks from our room was spectacular! My family and I stayed in one of the suites located near the top of the hotel and we felt like we lived the life of a celebrity. The rooms are luxurious (beds and linens are amazing) with cool views of Chelsea Market and the river. The staff is very warm and welcoming.

Can't wait to come back! Thank you for making our stay one for the memory books.

I recently stayed for the third time at The Maritime, a wonderful boutique hotel. Great location to Chelsea Market and fun walk to Hudson River front and parks. Fantastic beds with great room amenities and outstanding views of the river. From the time I entered the Hotel, I was greeted by friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful staff whether it was the doorman, front desk personnel, room service or housekeeping.
