“Lovely Castle in the middle of Central Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Spend an hour or so here when walking through central park, gives a look lookout over the local area. If visiting the area I would definitely make sure you look for this as it is quite hidden as the Park is huge.

“Fun sightseeing spot!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

Finding a cool little castle in the middle of central park is pretty neat. They offer tours but we just took pictures around the castle. It has some really neat look out areas and the architecture was great. I would definitely recommend making it a stop while exploring central park.

“Another hidden gem in Central Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Belvedere Castle is one of the original structures built for Central Park by Frederick Law Olmsted in the late 1800's. It is another gem in Central Park missed by most tourists. Like with much of the Park, most people tend to stay in the southern end of the Park (usually below 72nd Street). But if you do make the trek above 72nd Street, it's worth a visit.

The view is wonderful. Turtle Pond and the greatest view of the Great Lawn. The castle is small but not generally packed with people so access is very easy.

It's really worth the trip to see.

“Hey, it's a cute smallish castle!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Right to the point. Fun if you have the time but hardly worth making a dedicated trip into Central Park for. If you're near it, why not. It does have a nice view of a pond below it and some sporting fields to the north and would be an interesting stop along a much larger tour of the park.

“A Pleasant Surprise in NYC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

The first time I saw Belvedere Castle it was raining pretty hard, but it was worth the visit. The best photo opportunities are across the lake and you may have to step over the little fence to get the best shots. I will grant that this is NOT an amazing castle in its own right, but worth the trip if you are walking through the park. Be on the look out for the redtail hawks in the park, so if you hear a raptor's shriek, start looking for the hawks, but be aware that they maybe feasting on squirrel.
