“Great little Zoo....not expensive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

We were in NYC on December 30th.....2 families with 2 17 year olds, 2 12 year olds, 1 10 year old and 2 8 year olds....plus the grown ups....

went to the zoo in the afternoon and the kids LOVED it....

its a small zoo...but the price to get in is also small and you get to see a wide variety of animals...

highlights for us were the sea lions and the penguins....

give this zoo a try next time you are in NYC

“Watch the sea lions for free from the pathway...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

.....as the rest of it was meagre and, for me, the animals generally had neither space nor sufficient stimulation. The aforementioned sea lions were wonderful, however, and their trainers very impressive (no, they weren't wearing adidas on their flippers...).

You can see the sea lions from the pathway without paying to go in. Unless you want to get nose to nose with them, do that and save your twelve dollars.

“An Oasis in NYC”

So much to see and do in the park. Recommend the concerts in the park, the carousel and the rowboats.

“Pretty Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Visited this zoo on a sunny January day in NYC and was pleasantly surprised! The zoo is on the smaller side, but, to me, it really was the perfect size! Plenty of animals to see and the tropical (indoor) house was REALLY awesome. I would definitely recommend if you have an hour or so that you can spare. After you are done, explore the rest of the park because it is just beautiful!!!

“Quaint zoo, lively animals in the winter.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

This was a nice retreat from the city. The animals were really fun-- the seals and penguins were very lively and seemed happy swimming and socializing. The snow leopard is beautiful. The tropical bird house is AMAZING! The staff and volunteers offered interesting facts about the furry guests. I would go back again and again.
