Michael, the manager there has to go and quick! Went there on a Friday afternoon for happy hour, with plans to stay for dinner with a group of 6 people. Had a great time at the bar, our bartender was named April and she was fantastic. Things took a massive nosedive from there.
We had reservations for 6 for 7:30 pm. We were all there by 6:30, hanging out at the bar and ran up a nice tab. At 7:0, we checked on our table, and were told it was not ready. After checking 3 more times, we were not seated till 8:15, a full 45 min after a reservation we made a week in advance. After we sat down, we could not find a waiter for another 20 min. It was now past 8:30 and we asked to speak to the manager.
Michael, the manager, appeared and proceeded to argue, stating that thevreason we were not seated on time was because our whole party was not there at 7:30, which was absolutely not true. When we told him he was not stating the facts, he said the computer told him we we're seated at 7:48 pm, another blatant lie.
Michael was rude, obstinate and the cliche that gives New Yorkers a bad name, and I lived in NYC for 7 years in TriBeCa and UES so I know what I speak of in this case. This is an adorable bar that has great potential but the management does not understand that arguing with customers who spend 3 hours at the bar and are prepared to stay for dinner with a group of 6, is not the way to make money and attract repeat customers.
Go grab a drink at the bar but don't stay to be abused by clueless, insolent management and waitstaff.
