“Still a Relative Bargain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

The weekend rates make this Hilton worth a stay if you don't mind taking a cab or mass transit to get uptown. The junior suite corner rooms still afford gorgeous views, but the furniture and carpeting could use some updating.Proximity to the new 9/11 museum is a plus, but there's still major construction going on.

Came in town with family for Yankees Red Sox. Hotel was very clean and accomodating, especially for NYC. Staff was very friendly and concierge helped with travel for 5 to the airport. Short walk to subway and direct train to Yankee Stadium. Nice walk ot WTC memorial and excellent view of Freedom Tower.

Room Tip: ASk foir a king facing the Freedom Tower. Payan upgrade if needed, the view is astounding.

If you stay at this hotel, you are within a short walk to WTC. We had a corner room with a great view and up high enough from the street and construction noise. Hotel was nice and the rooms were clean. The only issue we had is that the room did not cool off enough over night. Starbucks is connected to this hotel. Would stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: WTC is still under construction. Pick a high floor room to be able to see above construction and av...

In the financial district so not too congested at night, DO NOT order room service as pancakes cost $23!!!!! Drinks at the bar were great from one bartender but not the other and for the price I wouldn't risk it.
Pros: clean linens, rooms, bathrooms, lobby & pool. Heated pool. Great views. Friendly staff.
Cons: fridge in room is fully stocked & have sensors so you can not use then so store even a bottle of water the option the front desk had for us was to add a mini fridge to the room for $35 per night no thanks, no hot tub in pool area, NO FREE WI-FI, I mean really???? My 3 night stay was more than $1200.00 & we can't have free wi-fi? Although the staff was nice no one knew directions just kept handing us the same cheesy hard to navigate map. Expected more from such a clean & pricey hotel. Can't have it all I guess.

We booked our first trip to NY and were excited for our stay at the Millennium Hilton. Although the room cost, ($400 per night) was quite expensive for us, I hear that is the going rate. The view from the 48th floor overlooking the WTC memorial was breathtaking, but was somewhat blemished by the dirty hand marks left by the previous occupant. The restrooms were also disappointing when I found hair in the bathtub and splatter on the bathroom door mirror, which made it hard to get comfortable and relax… The following evening when we returned tour room after 9:00 p.m. we found that housekeeping was still making their rounds and still seemed to miss the yuckiness left the day before. Also, we could hear her moving in the room next to us, again making it hard to get comfortable and relax.) Although the view was spectacular, the rooms didn’t feel warm or inviting. And although I may visit a Hilton hotel in the future, I can almost guarantee that it won’t be the Millennium Hilton in NY. And since I have to type a 200 minimum word review, I might also include that when I went to the restaurant on the 3rd floor and asked to order a pizza to go, I was told that I had to order through room service where they charge an extra 18% gratuity per meal, as well as an additional $5 per person eating… Ridiculous the $18 pizza ended up costing close to $30 just because I wanted to eat in my room.

Hotel is clean, housekeeping is attentive, location good during business hours but it gets quiet in the evenings. We were disappointed with the concierge at this location and their lack of response to our vm. Then when we went downstairs and spoke with the concierge it was apparent this young man makes suggestions based on relationships with specific vendors. We were interested in a bus tour and were steered to the worst bus company with the most horrible buses and really bad service. Hilton should put an end to that relationship and concentrate on what is best for its guest. This concierge insisted that the tour company we wanted was not the way to go. So, we changed to his recommendation and were sadly disgruntled with that choice. The bus company had too few buses for far too many guests (probably because hotels are feeding all their guests to this company!) and we waited over 35 minutes to even get on a bus. One bus was so hot we almost fainted before they would let us off!!

I and several family members gathered at the hotel for a special family event. The amenities were great and the hotel was close to subway station (which we mastered after a couple days). Concierge staff were gracious and provided assistance with directions to attractions. Overall experience was good and we got really good group rate for hotel in NY.
