We booked a twin bedroom with a private bedroom so we did not feel sleeping in a hostel . Our bedroom was quiet and clean, the bathroom was nice, the location next to Time Square perfect we hardly ever used the metro ! ,The wifi was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not to write home about it but we can not complain about it.

I have to say that the Equity Point is a great location right in the heart of Times Square. Upon arrival the receptionist was very friendly and helpful and we were quickly in our room. Although this is a budget hotel it was very comfortable and clean with free safes in the room for personal belongs. I would say if you are on a budget you would have a long way to go to get any better location for the price.

Stayed here with my Mam for her first trip to New York. She loved it and was really disappointed when it closed down. Great location and if it has been kept to the same standard as Hotel 41 then it's spotless clean and the staff are brilliant. Rooms are small but let's be fair with Manhattan at your doorstep how much time are you really going to spend in the hotel room.

Just a few steps from Times Square, at 41st and right across the strees is 42st Subway Station. Its right in the middle of Manhattan so its easy to go North to Central Park and nearby attractions as the Museums also easy to go South to 9/11 Memorials and Staten Island Ferry. Its location makes it easy to move around the city. (Get the 7 day pass Metro Card it will make it even more easy)

Their staff was really nice and helpful if you have any question, english and spanish speakers. We had a triple bedroom, small but just what we needed, enough space for our luggage, it was clean, clean private bathroom, sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, hot water, sort of a closet with a couple of clothe hangers, 3 safe boxes and a heater (dunno if it was an A/C too, i guess it was already cold because of winter season, feb 2015). Beds were comfortable after all.

They have a self-service breakfast from 7am to 10am. It was bread + bagels (somedays) + fruits (oranges and apples, somedays) + 3 flavors of cereal + tea + coffee + hot chocolate. It was fine, gave us enough energy to get through the morning until lunch. Get there early so you dont miss it.

The hostel has a bar right behind the lobby, there is where breakfast is served, it was pretty cool.

Wifi service was unstable, sometimes you had access to it in you bedroom, sometimes at the hall and sometimes it just was gone, no Wifi at all. But we didnt make this a big deal, we barely spent a couple of hours a day at the hotel, we were so into our trip that we left the hostel right after breakfast and were back late at night just to sleep and get ready for the next day. We just needed a few minutes of Wifi to text our family and friends or we would go to a Starbucks in our way back to the hostel and get the quick texting done.

Walls were thin and you could hear people in the next room if they spoke out loud but as i said before we just spent a few ours at the hostel and since we were very tired we would fall asleep pretty quickly.

It was definitely worth our money.

I was looking for a hostel near a subway station and near the center of Manhattan. The Equity fit the bill. Subway station right across the street, and on the southern tip of Times Square. The Equity is a hostel, but more like a hotel since each room has its own bathroom. The rooms are small. We were in a 2 bed (double and bunk), which was perfect for my son and I.All lodging in in NYC is expensive, but the Equity was worth it. Continental breakfast served. The staff was helpful if you have any questions.

Room Tip: We had room 206. No view out the window, which was no big deal. 2nd floor was good, we took the stai...

We had a group of people staying in New York for a special event. This hostel was perfectly placed. Everything was basic but it was fine for a few days. We were in a quiet room but I did make a point of requesting that. Others said their rooms were noisy. Very good value if you want to really see New York and be in the heart of the action. Right across the road from the subway of 42nd st.
