“Nice and very near to Broadway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Me & my wife stayed for 3 nights.
Everything was OK, nice service and very near to the Broadway, but the breakfast was very average.
The Room was big (took the king size).
Bottom line it is recommended.

Perfect location, close to Times Square, Central Park, 5th Avenue etc etc. Free breakfast is a bonus. Only small downside is the room needs a good dust and the shower curtain in room 906 needs changing!!

We spent three nights at this hotel from fri-mon in november. Staff weren't the friendliest but were available. Breakfast had a good selection such as bread, cereals, bagels, waffles, muffins etc but you had to be there early if you wanted to sit. On our second day we took ours up to our room to eat it. The location of this hotel is great as it's only a couple of minutes walk to times square. The rooms however (or ours anyway) are in dire need of a good scrub and fresh coat of paint. We had a room on the 4th floor and although it was really small it was fine for the two of us as there was a cupboard to store suitcases. The room also had a tv, hairdryer, shampoo and shower gel. Unfortunately thats where the positives end. We were woken every morning at around 5:45 by the people across the hall. We were also woken every time someone got the lift as it was right opposite our door. The window in the room was cracked, the carpet wasn't clean and the worst thing was when a (small) cockroach crawled across my husbands chest while he lay in bed watching tv. We caught it and washed it down the sink but because I was worried there might be more I pulled out the bedside tables, lifted the matress and bedsheets. The back of the tables looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a year as there was dust, dirt and one of those toothpick/dental floss things down there. Also the bottom of the matress was covered in dust. It's a shame as we loved new york and I was looking forward to staying at this hotel as I'd heard the rooms had been renovated. Obviously they hadn't done ours at that point. I also understand you get what you pay for but cleanliness is a basic necessity and not an extra. We visited four different cities during our trip (boston, new york, montreal and toronto) and the hotel at times square although the most expensive was definitely the lowest rated.

A friend and I stayed here for just under a week. The lcation of the hotel couldn't be better for shopping and sightseeing. You are just minutes from Times Square and 5th Avenue. We ended up walking almost everywhere.

Our room was huge and clean. Downside was the fact there was a wall right in front of the window which meant there was little to no daylight. The windows could not be opened which meant we had to rely on the aircon (which worked fine) or live with a rather warm room.

The (free) Wifi worked great.

The staff were friendly and helpfull.

Breakfast was alright. Nothing fancy but good enough to have a quick bite before venturing out. Major grudge: disposable dishes. But then that seems to be the norm in a lot of NYC hotels.

Overall we were happy with out stay. This is no luxury hotel but it is great value for money and perfectly suitable for a city
break.

We stayed here on the 13th and 14th November and found it to be very comfortable. Free wifi in your room. Breakfast included a buffet style breakfast, the room where you have breakfast can get busy at certain times but there was never a shortage of food. In the room is a hairdryer, tea and coffee making , tv, telephone, shampoo and conditioner, hand and body wash and hand and body lotion in dispensers.a really comfortable large bed. All the bedding and towels were nice and white. There was a room that we stored our bags in on the day we vacated the room and the staff were very helpful and polite. We stayed in 709 and it was very quiet we were not disturbed at all.

Room Tip: Room 709 comfortable and quiet.

What a great find! The Hotel at Times Square is centrally located in Midtown. It is a nice area, has clean & quiet rooms, breakfast, free internet and is close to theatres, shopping and restaurants. We were very pleased and would return.

Our room on the second floor was very small, though quite well equipped e.g. hairdryer, tv, ironing board but no refrigerator. The bed was comfortable and the reading lamps were excellent, though I have doubts about the freshness of the sheets. Our room had a window but no light came in through it, so essentially the room had no natural light. If anyone spoke in the corridor, or knocked on a door, it sounded as if they were in the room with us. Fortunately the bar on our floor was not in use during our stay, so noise didn't become a major issue. There is a self-serve breakfast room, plenty to eat, including cereals, breads, muffins, boiled eggs, fresh fruits and yoghurts. Coffee from a coffee machine is available all day. There is a tourist information desk and an ATM on the ground floor, also a communal lounge room, and the Wi-Fi is free. The food trucks in the street outside the hotel were great, all sorts of food choices but not easy to eat in our very cramped room. Staff were polite if not friendly, and not particularly helpful. Everything in the hotel looks as if it needs a good steam cleaning. Two and a half stars.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the second floor, noise is an issue, especially if the bar is in use

Dear Aussieabroad007,
Thank you for your review. We’re sorry that you found the room depressing. Unfortunately, some of our rooms do not come with a great view because of surrounding buildings. This is common in Manhattan. We can assure you that the room was very clean and that the sheets were indeed fresh. We will soon be upgrading all the guest rooms which will include new carpeting, wallpaper, furniture, etc.
We hope you will give us another chance in the future.
