Arrived into our room to find the air conditioner was behind the bedhead. Who in their right mind would put it there, funny smell to room. We were sharing a bathroom and that wasnt a problem. Went to get moved, no the receptionist couldnt do it have to talk to manager. Yes she would move us, except you couldnt get in the room for the smell of cigaretts. Heated discussion with Ms Blake, why would we shift when we asked for non-smoking. Long and hard discussion with Ms Blake who stated we didnt order a more expensive room and she didnt have any others. I pointed out that we were there for five nights and seening it was nothing like the pictures on the net and that they hadnt stated the air conditioner was behind the bedhead, maybe they should compromise to accommodate us. After at leaste another 20 minutes of discussion she moved us to a room with a bathroom, with the bed far away from the air conditioner. My advice is ask when you book where the bed is situated and think that the photos taken must have been taken 15 years ago. The whole issue could have been fixed in 5 minutes but their attitude towards the customer wasnt very good. Location was great a bit far out of the main drag, but peaceful and next to central park and the train system is great.
