Description: John DeLucie is the Chef Proprietor of Crown, Bill's Food & Drink, and The Lion restaurants in New York City. DeLucie opened Crown in a 1930's mansion steps away from The Metropolitan Museum of Art on the Upper East Side. Bill's Food & Drink opened in November 2012 in Manhattan’s Midtown, and features hearty American cuisine. The Lion opened in May 2010 and is located in the West Village – it features a menu consistent with the Chef himself; classic American with undeniable Italian influences.

“Not worth a visit”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

- very noisy. I like lively but the noise at Crown is beyond that
- food mediocre. I had White Asparagus Salad as starter - nothing special, my husband had the Grilled Spanish Octopus - it was a bit over cooked and burnt. We both had the Day New York Strip as main and we both agreed that we had better steaks in other restaurants.
- service okey, again nothing special.
- we had no problem spending money on this evening but Crown is very pricey for what you get

My advice: choose another restaurant. We both left feeling a bit sad for choosing to have our cool dinner in NY there.

“Triple Play”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2012

This restaurant is located in an UES townhouse. The bar is very inviting, but the decor in the main dining room borders on the drab. Although the menu is limited, the food is very good and the service is superb. We will come back here. The chef here worked at the Waverly Inn and the Lion in Greenwich Village.

“Plan to wait even with a reservation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2012

reservation for 8:45, bar was packed and were finally seated at 9:20. Good food and poor service once seated...too many choices in new york to go back. Maybe once the initial hype is over it will be better...but no excuse for poor service with these prices!
