I stayed at the Quin on two different occasions. Once for business (1night) and once with family for 4 nights. The Quin works as both a business hotel as well as a family hotel. Its location is so convenient both for taking kids to the park and for some high-octane shopping.
The feeling when you enter The Quin is that of chic. It literally oozes of fashion as The Quin has created their very own scent which you will get your first whiff of once you enter the lobby. The second was that of bubbling Champagne, elegantly posed in a large, silver cooler. You cannot miss the Bergdorf Goodman vitrine which gives you a peak of what's in their perfectly appointed Provisions Cabinets. They also have a direct line to the unparalleled experience of spending time with one of BG's famed personal shoppers. For you lay-people, these are the men and women who can pull pieces for you that never may even see the main floor - items so coveted they are reserved for BG's best clients.
If you work in fashion like me, you will truly appreciate all the small details that makes this as covetable as a first row ticket to the Chanel Haute Couture show in Paris.
The croc embossed Venetian Plaster in the foyer is a work of art in itself. As are the flower arrangements. The Quin also offers concierge service that will land you a table at a sold-out restaurant if need be.
The location is so close to Lincoln Center you can make it there in heels.
When I went there with my family of an 8 month old baby and a 4-year old as well as a nanny, we stayed in one of the corner suites as well as the adjacent room where the baby and our nanny slept.
Luxurious linens, delectable amenities. We were delayed from the airport and the staff had already brought us a bottle of red wine to go along with the fine assortment of nuts, cheese and fruit. On one occasion, there was a box of Laduree macaroons waiting for me. The staff really makes you feel special - even the baby got an amenities bag that makes packing anything yourself redundant. The 4-year old was greeted with a cart of stuffed animals from which he could chose one.
All luxury hotels can provide you with beautiful surroundings and great amenities, but what makes The Quin something beyond is the staff. From the bell boy to the GM - they are all there to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
If there was anything to be said that was not perfect, it was the control panel that controls all of the electronics in the room. Very cumbersome but not a major biggie.
