“Beautiful hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

The room was beautiful, very clean, very high-tech and comfortable. This room had the most comfortable bed I've ever had at a hotel. The high end towels, robes, slippers and the Fresh toiletries were great. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Our only hiccup? Our last night we had turned our choice to "Turn down service" at the door when we left for our evening out. We had also left a little note requesting more decaf so we could warm up with a coffee when we returned, and bath towels so we could shower. On our previous 2 nights at the hotel, when we returned, the room had been freshened, the beds turned down, and you just really felt pampered with all the great attention to detail. On our last night, the room was as we had left it, with our towels used up and all the decaf used. I must say though, that when I went down and requested the towels and the coffee, they were delivered to the room very promptly. This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and I'd return over and over again.

We’re very pleased to read that you found your room to be comfortable and the staff to be friendly and helpful! I’m sorry we failed to offer turn down service prior to your return to the room on the last night of your stay, and I thank you for your note and gracious patience with us while we filled your request. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Quin frequently, and we will be sure to replenish your decaf coffee and refresh your towels promptly each night you give us the opportunity of hosting you in the future.

Thought the service was immpecable and the location was perfect ( right next to Central Park and short walk to Times Square) The hotel itself was lovely and modern at the same time. Doormen and front service were on point at all times and we got awesome recs on where to eat nearby from the attaches. Hotel was very clean and quiet and I would definetly stay here again and again! 5 stars all the way around!

We stayed at The Quin for one night for a family reunion in the city, and we had the best hotel experience ever! I highly recommend it because this hotel really pays attention to details, as described below:

Arrival - we were greeted by the front desk by last name because my husband has stayed there once before. Our kids were given toys and books to choose from. One of the staff even greeted them by their names! Cheese and crackers were brought up to our room with a bottle of red wine. We really enjoyed it after walking around the city for hours in the morning. It was also perfect snack for our toddler at 3pm.

Our room - everything is brand new, and it is modern contemporary. Thick towels, bathrobes ,and slippers were provided in the room. A crib and a diaper pail were already in our room when we walked in. We had two queen beds, and they were so comfortable! They even seemed bigger than our queen size bed at home which allowed me to cuddle with my infant with my husband next to me. There was a chair and small table which were good to have. The room was very quiet even though it is in a busy location. I loved the iPad that controls the lights and shade!

Check out - a very nice young man helped us with our stuff, and he especially checked the room to make sure we didn't forget our phone chargers. It was nice for him to double check. I am sure people do forget sometimes.

Overall - it was extremely pleasant experience! The hotel's location is incredible! It is perfect for Christmas stroll. It is very close to the all the shops and 2 blocks to Central Park. The staff was so helpful and everybody had a smile on. When we returned from dinner the room was cleaned up, and they put two stuffed animals on the beds for our kids!!

The only thing I didn't understand was the shower. It is European style, I guess? There is no sliding glass door or shower curtain. I had no problem turning on the shower head, but I couldn't figure out how to get water coming from the faucet to fill up the tub.

I would say that if you enjoy being treated as a special guest, you should definitely stay at the Quin. You won't be treated like just one of the many guests at some other hotel chains. They really try to make it a lot more than a place for you to sleep and shower. We will return!!

As with any newly opened establishment, there will be items to work through. The positives - the location is excellent and very close to shopping, Central Park and a subway entrance. The hotel is clean and upscale, the beds extremely comfortable with luxury bedding and housekeeping was perfect. The price is a wonderful value as compared to 5 star hotels. The water pressure on the handheld shower is very powerful.

The negatives - there are some areas that need to be worked out and one of the most frustrating being the high tech electronic/lighting system. Everything is controlled from the bedside controller. There is something to be said for the good old fashioned light switch. I would consider myself very up on technology, but my vote would be to remove this system quickly as it's not functional without individual control options. They do offer All On and All Off Shades Open and Shades Closed- but it just doesn't work well if more than one person in a room or in a suite. The music wouldn't connect to the Internet nor did the sound machine work.

We also had significant problems with our TV and a 10 second delay for any of the buttons to engage. The Satellite Tv was also down or constantly reset. And the last note worthy bug to be worked out is the handheld shower head that shoots water straight out the shower door.

The Bar and Restaurant are still under construction but the hotel does offer complimentary wine and champagne every evening and there is a small selection of snacks and drinks for purchase in the mini bar. There is also a Duane Reed Store across the street for any provisions you may need.

All in all, The Quin has great potential once the issues are worked through.

Room Tip: The inside courtyard Junior Suite rooms (near the elevator) look directly into others' rooms. A...

We stayed at the Quin during the Thanksgiving holidays and were blown away by the service we received from everyone we encountered during our stay from the doormen, front service, attaches to housekeeping. It was truly service with a smile, and nothing was ever too difficult. We booked for 5 nights, and after staying a night I ventured down to ask if there were larger rooms available. I was promptly shown to a premier room with a view of 6th avenue (so we could watch the Thanksgiving Parade from our room!) and was upgraded immediately without extra charge. Upon returning to the hotel on a very cold frosty evening, the bellman probably noticing how "frozen" we looked asked if we would like a pot of hot tea delivered to the room. I rang the Attache asking if Chelsea Market would be open on Thanksgiving, and she actually went round ringing every single restaurant within Chelsea Market to find out! We found a significant difference in size between the deluxe vs premier rooms, but both rooms were very well appointed and we appreciated the comfortable bed and lovely Fresh toiletries. And just a hop and skip away from Central Park! It will be lovely when their restaurant is ready, we cannot wait to return. Thank you Quin!

Room Tip: Premier Rooms for space

This hotel is very cool! The lobby is very simple and elegant and the rooms are awesome with the most comfortable beds ever. Love the shower amenities!!! The staff is absolutely the most accommodating and friendly I have encountered in a long time. The front door guys - so friendly and helpful! The attaches are amazing and always available. Suzy helped us pick a nice dinner location and show Friday night and she gave us amazing choices. The location is about 6 blocks from Rockefeller center, near Central Park, and not a far walk from Times Square. Good location, great service and awesome bed and bedding. What else could I ask for!!! Highly recommend staying here.

I stayed at the Quin the second week they were open, and my visit was perfect in just about every way. This is a lovely hotel with sophisticated details in artwork and furnishings. I wish I could have wrapped up the shower and taken it home. The beds and linens are outstanding, and I slept well except one night when there was a noise coming from the street…but that could happen in any big city. Everyone on the staff could not have been more friendly.
