We were staying Midtown where good dining is not easy to find (Herald district) so we wanted something a bit better but quick before our night at the opera. We headed uptown and took a chance on this restaurant. It was a busy Friday night but they obligingly found a table for two and our waiter was on the spot and ready to help. He asked if we were heading anywhere after dinner and, knowing we had tickets to the Met, got busy with our order.
My rare hamburger was close to raw and I decided to leave it. Our waiter noticed and wouldn't hear of me missing dinner. Instead, he took my plate and came back with another, perfectly cooked, meal. Nothing was too much trouble even though the place was packed.
We had ample time to eat, and relax a little after a day of sightseeing and still make it to our seats at nearby Lincoln Centre. There was even time for some happy snaps.
