“Elegant, Great location and not bank-account busting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

this is a beautiful hotel with classy rooms. the views over Bryant Park are just fab. we didnt eat in the hotel as there are just too many other great places, but the cellar bar has great atmosphere for drinks. the place has a wonderful 'unique' feel to it, that makes it stand out from the big chains. Although its certainly not the cheapest, it was a lot less expensive over the holiday season than a number of others we looked at. we loved it.

Room Tip: get a room as high as possible and facing the park

This hotel suits for those who like very good and friendly, easy-going service and stylish, modern, minimalistic hotel rooms with a big bathroom. We had a room with a view to the lovely Bryant Park. The hotel is quite pricy but nice to stay in. Happy hour for the hotel guests in the cellar bar every evening 5 pm-6 pm.

We stayed at this hotel in march 2011 but I forgot to leave a review and I believe you should give credit where it's due.
The location of the hotel is fantastic, 2 mins walk to Time Square and right in the middle of the City. Our room overlooked Bryant Park, which was lovely.
The room its self was surprisingly large for a city hotel and the bathroom was quite elegant and spacious.
The staff were great, very friendly and helpful, I would love to stay here again in the future.

We were all thrilled to read your review, the fact that you remembered us a few months later says a lot! Your comments about the staff and hotel were very much appreciated. The location is great, as you mentioned we are close enough to walk to times square but not right in the middle of it. We would love to have you back. Thank you. Darren dsumner@bryantparkhotel.com

Very elegant, the room was immaculate, very large for NYC. The location was perfect-quiet, but close to theaters, Time Square area. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. I mentioned at check-in that my partner and I were celebrating 20 years together and our birthdays over a long weekend. Later that evening, we returned to the room to find balloons and cupcakes! Thanks to Eric the concierge and the rest of the staff for making our stay special! Free happy hour was great!

Happy Birthday once again! I am glad that we were able to create some great new memories to your 20 years together. We all enjoyed having you both as guests and hope that you return real soon. Eric works very hard and it is very nice to see him get recognized as well. Darren dsumner@bryantparkhotel.com.

This has to be the best situated hotel in the City overlooking beautiful Bryant Park and central in terms of getting around Manhatten. We were upgraded for the course of our stay (many thanks to the kindness and thoughtfulness of Mr. De La Cruz, who we were delighted to meet) and our room on the 17th Floor overlooking the park was truly superb!! Contemporary, some might say minimalist, the decor, finishes and fittings are of the highest quality. A most attractive building from the exterior, the interior will also impress. The comfort of you, the guest, is the bottom line here. The staff were tremendous. This visit to NYC was part of a birthday gift to my wife – the staff did everything they could to make even more special. The Front of House Staff even sent up two of the biggest cup cakes you have ever seen together with a helium filled balloon as a welcome and “happy birthday”. If you love New York – and we do – once you’ve experienced the Bryant Park you won’t want to stay anywhere else. A big thank you again to the staff –not forgetting Chase and Ryan – we had a fantastic visit.

Spent 2 nights in May on business. Hotel will be liked by those who enjoy trendy type format.

Pluses:
1. Nice location, lovely park across street.
2. Rooms ok size and quiet.
3. Clean, bathrooms nice size.

Other items to note:
1. Small lobby
2. Only 2 fairly small elevators, decorated in red, dimly lit - cozy and / or sexy
3. Staff helpful, but not overly friendly
4. Has European feel
5. Traveled with other older business associates who did not find the format to their liking.
6. Music in restaurant seems quite loud, similarly in bar downstairs. Conversation challenging
7. Came back from dinner one night and wanted to do drinks but cellar bar closed for private party. No sign to advise or warning by desk staff earlier in day, just security at top of stairs that night. May or may not be issue from time to time.
8. Restaurant not really geared to late night cocktails, close at 11
9. Bird noises play on radio in room rather than music.
10. Hot water may take few minutes to get thru pipes.
11. Room fairly plain.
12. Likely to appeal to younger folks

Saying I'm not a huge fan of New York City is an understatement, but this hotel may make me change my mind. The front desk staff took great care of us and gave us an upgrade to a suite when our reserved room was still occupied. The location is wonderful - across from the park and right on the subway line. Rooms are modern and clean. I'll stay here again.
