“Funky hotel for a quick-stop visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

If you're looking for a funky boutique-style hotel in a great location (next to Central Park) with a comfy bed and reasonable price then this is the place for you.

The rooms are small and the bathrooms even more so, but they're comfortable and have good amenities. Great for a couple of nights in the city.

There's a great bar with food on the lobby floor along with an outside area, and a roof-top bar which we actually didn't manage to get to.

The concierge is very helpful, so be sure to call/ chat to them about anything you're looking for.

Cons: rooms are very small with limited space. Drinks and food prices are high. The corridors do look rather used now and I noticed some drinks glasses were left outside a room for a day before being cleared away.

Staff was extremely friendly and service oriented. Hotel has a modern, trendy vibe. Beautiful common spaces. Tho' it is difficult to see them because it is so dark...really, turn up the.ights a little! Room was really small, especially the bathroom. Again, the lighting was poor. Room was very clean. I love that there is no carpeting. Bed was comfortable and shower had a plenty of hot water.

Great Location, friendly staff, good bfast options, however a few points that need attention, housekeeping must improve as a lot of times i felt the room was not cleaned as per standards, Limited room service is a downer and also the elevators especially in the mornings can be a drain on your patience. But i was happy overall.

Great hotel, Nice atmosphere and lots of interesting people at the hotel bars. Rooms are too small though and elevators are not enough. Breakfast was excellent with different choices. Location is perfect.

Be prepared to feel like your in a tent. Very small rooms even for NY. We booked four nights but left after one night. Staff friendly but just not our cup of tea. Moved over to the Dumont to spread out wings a little.

Booked 2 nights here for my daughter's birthday b/c it's her favorite place. Booked 2 nights and due to family situation had to cancel 1st night. Reserved rooms through AAA. When I called to cancel 1 night, the reservations female was one of the nicest I've dealt with, ever! Hotel had been booked solid nights before we arrived, so we got there at noon and they said they'd call us when room was ready. Walked around central park, came back about 4 and major line at check in as when we arrived. We went into the Hudson Common for a beer and the best french toast mac n cheese and fries!!! We had tickets to Broadway Play Book of Mormon at 7 and needed to freshen up and change so at 5:15pm we went back to front desk and asked and were able to get a room. But we had not been called. I understand it was very very busy... The rooms are so so so tiny, but cool. After the play, we wanted to bring pizza back to room but knew we had no microwave. No coffee maker. In the hallways in front of elevator, there were "bars" w/ stools and closet doors that looked like they had vending machines behind them and maybe there were microwaves, I don't. We didn't see the areas til the next morning when we were leaving and saw people sitting there. BIGGEST complaint was that there was not one single piece of literature in the hotel room that explained the hotel, where the restaurants/bars were located, etc... Aside from the tiniest hotel room I ever stayed in, it was very very cool, and the lobby area is worth a walk through even if you don't stay there.

Room Tip: If you need coffee in your room 1st a.m., call them 1st and ask how to get that b/c there wasn't...

Very nice hotel, a little dark but nice location. Close to Central Park, subway, walking distance to Times Square (20 min) and overall good service. The only thing we did complain about was the cleaning. Floors were not cleaned properly and sheet were not changed during the entire stay, even though we called reception. I think you should be able to expect clean sheets every other day in a 4 star hotel. Expecially if you ask for it.

Room Tip: Don't go below Superior room. Standard rooms are very small. And, make sure you get a room faci...
