Rooms were on the smaller side. As was the bathroom. But who comes to New York to stay inside a hotel room. Location is excellent with central park blocks away. The check in process was fairly quick. The hotel itself looks great. Ambiance was great.

Stayed for 2 nights at the hotel. First off we don't travel too much and it was interesting finding the hotel because it's not clearly named and as we were walking up and down the same street we finally noticed people leaving with suitcases and realized that's where the hotel was. It's right down the street from Central Park, there are several cafes and restaurants to eat at very close by. It's also close to the subway so there isn't too much walking you have to do if you looking to travel quickly from here to your next destination. The room was a little small, but very comfortable atmosphere and overall a great stay! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

We stayed here in 2009 and it was great then.

We also stayed there last week and unfortunately there has been no modernisation since 2009.

Things look a bit tatty and tired. The staff were all accommodating however even just after checking in and walking to out room both my Wife and I noticed that things were grubby and falling apart a bit.

Also the bar was not exactly the coolest bar in New York and I'd put it a long way behind The Long Bar at The Sanderson.

We'll be staying at Soho House next time.

Room Tip: The air conditioning unit was extremely noisy. The sink and toilet were cracked and grubby.

Ok I've never reviewed a hotel before but I felt utterly compelled to do so following our recent stay at the awful Hudson hotel in New York. The trip was a 40th celebration and I booked through BA for peace of mind. We were looking for a decent hotel that would make the stay comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable without breaking the bank and the Hudson seemed to tick all the boxes. The write up was impressive and the pictures of the hotel looked fantastic.Upon arriving at the hotel things started to go downhill fast. The bellboy looked dishevelled and hungover, the corridors on the ground floor were so dark, almost pitch black, the corridors by the rooms were painted a miserable grey colour with lime green illuminous doors and the bedrooms had dark wooden panelling, a tiny bathroom, half a bath, 1 small towel no bigger than a bath mat and it just felt dark and depressing. This isn't even the start of it. Our room wasn't ready and a promised call to confirm it was ready never materialised. We decided to have some food and drink from the bar and during our meal a girl came up to us to put a reserved sign on our table telling is there was a private function that evening. This was a running theme being told the next day we couldn't go outside for the same reason! The roof terrace we were looking forward to was closed and having enquired about this we were met with a facetious and even slightly aggressive response. Things got even worse! Our friends door lock broke and they had to move rooms. When we arrived back from our evening their luggage hadn't been brought to their new room as promised and finally arrived over an hour later, then to be told they would have to pack up again in the morning and move again to another room. The penny dropped. This hell hole was just a night club and hangout with queuing people and bouncers. Enough was enough, we demanded to speak to the manager who was just a kid who didn't care one iota and looked at us like we were the problem. We were in utter disbelief and beside us were other guests also very unhappy and complaining. The thought of staying any longer was depressing so we all packed our bags and left at 8.30am the following morning to check into a proper hotel for our last night. The images and description of this hotel are deceitful and in my opinion it should be closed down or turned into a YHA which is what it really is. Avoid this place like the plague. On a plus point nyc is amazing and there are plenty other places to stay to make the experience a special one.

The hotel is as hip as they come and you just feel cooler as you descend their escalator up to reception. Tiny rooms, but that's advertised. Awesome ambience in all of their bar scenes. Couple mess-ups with our reservation rate, and then our first room had a pretty funky odor, but they rectified both situations with a new room (on a higher floor) AND comped drinks at the bar. Overall, solid experience.

Although the rooms were very very small, the location of the hotel, the ambience of the hotel and the great people that work at the hotel more than make up for it. Would definitely recommend it to people visiting NYC. Its close to Central Park, Public Transport, Times Square and more!

Stayed here for my 25th HS reunion and was a blast. Spent Friday and Saturday nights there and checked in around 5pm to see that Happy Hour must have started hours earlier at the lobby bar.

Stayed in Room 700, a suite and was kind of small like maybe 300-350sq ft but hit all the right notes in being comfy and well stated.

Would def recommend this place to anyone that wants to stay near Columbus Circle / Central Park

Room Tip: Only somewhat loud in the lobby
