We got to Club Quarters via a car from EWR thru Viator. Actually was a quick trip on a Saturday. Greeted by front desk & checking in was a BREEZE. (Got a deal thru Hotwire for Midtown, which ended up Club Quarters for $184/night) Wasn't sure what to expect. Room was small but I think that is typical of downtown thru reviews I have read. The only thing I didn't like was that we had no view to the outside world. We were on the 6th floor & window was small & high. We walked everywhere! Very close to Radio City & Times Square. Couldn't have asked for a better 2 days this time of year. Check out was a BREEZE also...here's our keys, ok, thank you, & off we went. Could have used their car to drive us to the Cruise port for $35. We opted to try the taxi & saved $20. My husband had a taxi for us as soon as we stepped out the door of the hotel. We were told it might take awhile. I would definitely stay here again, but would ask for a room with a view! (I'm a little claustrophobic).(Free wifi was also quite nice!)

Room Tip: 6th floor had little to no noise....but also no view.

The location in midtown Manhattan is the best you can get, however, the rooms are relatively small and really need a significant renovation. The elevators are not really impressive as well, it takes more than a while to get to up to your room.

Had some issues checking in at 3:00, but once a new manager took over things were resolved with a smile. Rooms are small but functional. Some rooms are in better condition than others. beds are comfy, towels are soft and functional, shampoo, etc is nice so you don't have to pack those things. We really like the reusable/refillable complimentary water bottles and the complimentary tea/coffee/latte. We have stayed here a few times now and will likely stay here again if the price comes up right. Very convenient to get to from Grand Central - easy to walk even with luggage. There are many food options in the immediate area as well.

Room Tip: all of the rooms are kind of small, but some rooms seem more beat up than others.

My friends and I stayed here on my first trip to NYC. I'm in a wheelchair but we were able to make it work. Everything was tight for me like the elevator and the room but I can walk a few steps so it worked out. It was clean. We had to ask for several things but we would have them delivered in minutes. I never heard any street noise while trying to sleep. It was located near the places we wanted to visit like Rockefeller Center and Radio City. They let us store our luggage for several hours while we explored after checkout.

We booked 2 suites and a standard room to accommodate a holiday family get together in NYC.

First the positives: great midtown location between 5th Ave and Times square, just a few blocks from Rock Center and Grand Central. Small, but modern lobby with a sizable lounge area behind the lobby with refreshments all day, and free wi-fi throughout the hotel. Small but efficient staff with a positive, helpful attitude. The promotional suite rate of $519 plus tax was reasonable for the quality and location.

Now the negatives: We were traveling 4 hours with 4 small children so we called ahead early the morning of our arrival to request an early check-in on at least one of the 3 rooms. We were told that could only be arranged in advance with a $48 fee, but after 11 A.M. early check-in was on an as-available, first-come-first served basis. Fair enough, so we arrived at 11 A.M. and were told there were no rooms yet ready. The helpful desk clerk found a room that had been vacated and called housekeeping to request that it be expedited. We waited in the lounge about an hour and it still was not ready. We went to lunch, returned in another hour and still no room. OK, just bad luck. The clerk explained check-in time is 3 P.M. My daughter returned to the hotel at 4:30 with 2 tired children and still no room was available. Now, if they charge for early check-in shouldn't they pay you when guaranteed room is not available after 3 P.M.? Just suck it up I guess. Policies favor the house.

We were disturbed on arrival to see a woman (not dressed like a homeless person), slumped over sleeping in a chair in the lounge with hat and coat on. 2 hours later the same person was still in the same seat, same position, so we asked the desk clerk if she was alive or possibly passed out in distress. He called 'security.' When we returned at 4:30 the same person was up and holding court in the lounge. Didn't cause us any problems, but the situation was a little sketchy.

The final issue was when we returned late from dinner, very tired and realized that the single room had a full size bed, not the queen size shown on the reservation confirmation. There was some sort of HVAC unit mounted out of reach above the window with a fan running constantly. The remote control for the fan did not work, but it may have been a blessing since it masked some of the street noise below. While the room was large enough for 2 full beds, updated and well equipped, the bathroom was tiny (too small for 2 people), with a shower, no tub.

With the undersized bed, running fan, and street noise we had a lousy sleep. Upon checkout I told the clerk we had no problems with the 2 suites but would like a credit for the room that was confirmed to be a queen bed but wasn't. While understanding and empathetic, he insisted that the room type is not guaranteed. I pointed to my reservation that showed the standard room with queen bed was 'guaranteed' on the confirmation sent to me. He offered me $40 off the $419 rate. I asked for that plus a late check-out on one of the 3 rooms. He said $40 or late check-out was all he could do. Come on, the late check-out would have cost the hotel zero.

While the clerk was courteous, respectful, and seemingly understood the issue, it appears the policies of this hotel are not customer service oriented. We left with a sour taste and are not likely to return.

Room Tip: The suites face another building not the street, but all the suites are opposite the elevator, which...

Recently I had a long stay in NYC city & required accommodations that offered more than just a square hotel room. Club Quarters has nice size suites that offer a king size bed, two large screen TV's, a breakfast area and a efficiency kitchen. I was on the 16th floor with a great view of Grand Central station. If you get club access on the 27th floor they are open 24 hrs a day and offer complimentary latte's, capuchins, expressos etc. as well as light snacks. The club has a closed in terrace with spectacular views. They have two big desktop Apple computers and access to a printer. On the 3rd floor they have a fully equipped laundry room with state of the art machines that both wash and dry. Forgot your laundry detergent? No worries they offer both laundry detergent & softener. each floor is equipped with a "guest closet" where you can get access to a iron, a board, extra coffee, creamer and even a sewing kit. Next to the closet you will find a water machine to fill up your own own water bottle or use one of the one's provided. Each room is equipped with a Keurig coffee machine and both regular/decaf coffee. Centrally located to a variety of eateries & just across the street is a US Post office & a block away is Grand Central Station to either get the local metro or for out-of-state travel. But best of all are the people who work there. They are nice, eager to serve & will accommodate as much as possible. I would definitely stay there again & recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and bright. My preference are rooms located on higher floors. Just remember...

This is the best all around hotel in New York City. To start, the location is PRIME! It is an easy walk to many must-see attractions in the city including
Central Park, Time Square, Fifth Avenue shopping, Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station
The staff is the friendliest and most helpful you will find in any hotel! Travis checked us in and was so helpful and pleasant. He made a great first impression for the hotel and he was great with recommendations for the area.
The rooms were so clean and everyday the maid service did an exceptional job. The room and bathroom were also surprisingly large for New York City. A huge value!!!
We will definitely stay here every time we go to the city!!!
