gets 4.5 stars out of me.
Location is 1 minute away from times square, in the middle of theatre district. That's as convenient as it gets. The street itself is a bit run down, that's no fault of the hotel though.
Service from staff is impeccable, I am travelling with a baby, they offered an extra fridge(!) for baby food and a crib free of charge, along with any amenities you can think of. Its good because we would've moved the contents of the minibar, which apparently has sensors that will charge you immediately if you mess with the contents. (Its labelled on the fridge too) Conceirge Willford gets a special shoutout for being super helpful.
The room is where I deducted the .5 stars. First the good: I was on the 18th floor, so I have minimum noise from the street other than sirens (it IS NYC). I also have a bit of a 35 degree view of manhattan. Decor is very ....ummm...... more Versace than Ralph Lauren, which is kinda cool. The aircon is not quiet at all....and when it occasionally causes the whole room's lights to flicker around every 45 mins. My friend on the 3rd floor had to have his room changed because the aircon was too noisy and the street noise facing 46th was unbearable. They moved them to the eighth floor which was much better.
I was offered free drinks from the bar, but I never used it. Appreciated it though.
