“Can we move in??”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

Best Hotel, world-wide! We travel a lot...like constantly. We love nice hotels - from resorts to smaller boutique hotels. We also like a deal. When travelling to NYC, we used to stay wherever we got the best deal...not anymore. Since staying at the Muse Hotel, we can't stay anywhere else. They have an amazing space, location, and all that you would expect in a nice luxury boutique hotel, but it's the staff that make you feel like family - the part of your family you really like - that keep us coming back! We can't say enough good things about this Hotel - excellence throughout. Kudos to Ericka Nelson, Manager, for taking an amazing hotel and making it world-class in every area. Do yourself a favor and make sure you check out the amazing cuisine of Jarrett at NIOS. Out of this world flavors - check out the special seafood risotto. Have a drink with Avlyn at the Bar - again, inventive and world-class cocktails. If we could, we'd just move in!!

Room Tip: They'll take care of you!!

My husband and I just got back from a three-night stay at The Muse. It's a great boutique hotel tucked a few blocks away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. The rooms are very comfortable with really nice pillows (I hate the flat foamy ones that some hotels have). There was a huge flat screen tv, mini-bar and nice sized bathroom. The shower bears mentioning as it had great water pressure! The hotel hosted a wine hour every night with your choice of red or white. We had the nicest doorman that we met on the first night. He was very informative and helpful about where we were going and what to see/do. He also gave us a drink coupon for two free drinks in the bar. The bar was small but definitely worth a cocktail or night cap. Cosmos are my favorite martini and they make a really good one with fresh squeezed lime juice, none of that bottled stuff! We only had one issue with our room service breakfast that we ordered the morning we were leaving. But my husband mentioned it to the person behind the desk upon check-out and he credited our bill for the breakfast. He did not have to do that but we appreciated it. I've stayed at several hotels in NYC and I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a king suite which was nice because the room was tucked away down the hall away from...

Dear JCOhio330,

Thank you for your five star rating!

We love, love, love to see you had such a great stay with us! So happy, even though in the hustle of Times Square, you found the hotel to be comfortable.

Cheers to you for enjoying the fabulous cocktails in Nios... (we do have to say, our bartenders are quite the mixologists!)

We look forward to seeing you back with us in the near future!

My girlfriends and I celebrated a birthday here. The location is amazing, the atmosphere in the bar is funky, food great too. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Would recommend definitely for families or groups they were most helpful. You are just 2 blocks from 5th ave and around the corner from times square

Ideally located for first time visitors or seasoned travelers, The Muse New York - a Kimpton Hotel, is situated half a block East of Times Square, in the heart of the Theater District in Midtown Manhattan. My wife and I spent five nights (September 11 to 16, 2013) in room 1604, a corner mini-suite with King bed, at The Muse New York. Our nightly room cost averaged $514.88 (including all taxes and Tourism Assessments).

Like most Kimpton Hotels, The Muse New York is situated in a non-descript building that has been renovated to Kimpton's funky boutique style. The lobby area, while not huge, is attractive and the hotel features (like all other Kimpton's) a 5 pm to 6 pm nightly free "wine and appies" hour. We found the staff to be pleasant to deal with and ready to assist in any and all of our requests, whether extra bath towels or arranging a car service for our trips from and to Newark Airport.

Room 1604 was large for New York City, in a "L" shape with separate livingroom area and master bedroom. It had a comfortable King bed, plenty of pillows, quality linens, two large high definition televisions, sofa, and an average sized bathroom. But, most importantly, room 1604 was quiet at night.

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is terrible and 10 is perfect, I rate The Muse New York as an 8.

We have recently returned from staying at The Muse. After much research chose it as prefer a smaller hotel as many in NY are huge! I emailed in advance to ask for a high floor and quiet room and was delighted when this request was met. The room and bathroom were very nice and have to say it was the best bed we have ever slept in, amazingly comfortable. The staff were friendly and very efficient, nothing too much trouble. Hotel in great location for sightseeing.

The only negative was on our return to hotel one evening we fancied a night-cap in the bar, which is stunning by the way, great atmosphere, unfortunately we were asked to leave as a function was taking place and the bar had been privately hired out. As a resident we could not believe that we couldnt have a drink in our own bar! However they served us drinks on the house and said we could sit in the lobby. We chose to take our drinks to our room.

This was our first visit to New York, wonderful city and friendly people, hope to return. Also our first stay in a Kimpton, was impressed and would stay again.

Dear chris c,

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. We might be a little bias but we also love our beds… did you know you can replicate our rooms at your home also (kimptonstyle.com)?

We do want to apologize about the restaurant being closed for a private event. We hope you still enjoyed the drink on the house.

We hope you visit us again in the future.

Great location great food great staff ... For our first time in NY what a superb choice The Muse was as nearly everything we planned to do was merely a stroll along a few blocks . Wonderful food ( tho not cheap ) and overall just a great hotel ... Wouldn't hesitate to go back

My Mom and I recently booked a stay at the Muse Hotel in NYC for Broadway Week. We decided to go to NYC to see Spiderman in the Dark and book the Muse for the weekend. We arrived on September 13, 2013 and stayed the weekend. When we arrived we entered the beautiful lobby and the Front Desk Staff was very pleasant. They quickly pulled up our reservation and gave us our room assignment. We were placed on the 14th Floor in an Executive Double Room and it was very nice. From the decor, to the soft beds and beautiful large bathroom, it was great! We loved our room and in the evening the windows had these pull down black-out screens that would come down to keep the sunlight out in the morning, which was great! We were in room 1401 and our bathroom was HUGE and we loved it. Also, Sarah, the Guest Services Manager was so nice. We met her after returning from a night out and she was very professional and so easy to talk to. Also, every evening from 5-6pm they have Happy Hour in the Lobby which is a great way to start the evening off. My friends who came to visit us while we were at the hotel were very impressed and I would definitely stay there again when I am in NYC! Excellent customer service and great rooms!
