“Stayed right after Sandy but happy here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

It's in very good location but not that easy to find if you're not familiar to that area due to small sign and entrance. FYI, it's between Marriott and Lexington hotels.

The room is not small though. Very nice and clean. I got the one with bar counter, 2 big LCD. The beds are also big and clean. The couch in living room area is also comfortable.

Super fast Internet connection. This thing impressed me the most.

Tip: Hyatt VISA card member will get Platinum status

Room Tip: Corner room of 48th and Lexington is great!!!

This is a great hotel - perfect location (close to many sites and shopping but not in the heart of it) The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I was greeted by Carlos who was super friendly, fast and very professional. This hotel is very similar to the Andaz Downtown where there is no front desk - they check you in right outside the elevator bank with ipad/computer. The rooms are very nice - clean and spacious for NY. There is a bar/kitchenette - but not a conventional one. There is a new microwave oven placed in a cabinet, a small dishwasher (never seen a small drawer that opens to be a dishwasher) and a bar (stocked with 10 bottles of wine). Very comfortable, quiet hotel. The second floor lounge is great for a midday break, morning coffee/cappuccino etc...so take advantage of that. One tip - the hotel entrance is actually on 48th Street. I was talking and walking down Lexington looking for it and walked right by. Turn on Lex and you'll see the entrance.

Room Tip: Pretty quiet hotel - I am a light sleeper and they had near the elevator but I still got a nice quie...

Stayed here for 4 nites. This is a fairly new hotel about 1 year old, it is located between lexington ave and East 48st. it seems like the hotel front desk also assist with luggage and assist with hailing a cab. The service is great, they are really helpful. The lobby is small and don't really have much to it. Very simple. We got a room in a 3rd floor, room is clean and pretty big because i booked the premier 2 double room type.
Location is great. It is 3 blocks away to 5th ave and Grand central station also about 4 blocks away to the left.
Will stay here again if I come back.

We recently returned from a three night stay in NYC and stepped away from our traditional theater district locale to try the Hyatt 48 Lex. It was everything we were looking for and Lexington and 48th was an easy walk to any place we were interested in going. Juice, coffee and a small pastry was all we wanted to start the day and it was complimentary... in New York City!

The bed was comfy, the location quiet, and most importantly for someone a tad cautious about cleanliness, this was spotless.

Our driver struggled to find the place but that was the extent of the issues here. Don't be prepared for a massive, impressive lobby because there is not one at all. Bar off the lobby is great, service was very good. Read reviews about poor service but I thought the young staff did a terrific job and were helpful in the essentials. If you want full service help, in other words, a concierge who knows everything, contacts with tics, shopping I would not stay here. But by the essentials I mean making sure your stay is comfortable this place works.

Rooms are newer, very modern and hip. Bathroom very small but this is New York. Bed was very comfortable. Room rates on the weekend were very reasonable for New York. All in all I was pleasantly surprised and happy I took a chance on staying here.

For Starbucks fans their is a location right around the corner.

We were pleasantly surprised at how new and up to date this hotel is in a great location for enjoying Manhattan. Our room was small, but well apportioned and comfortable. The bed was terrific, as was the bathroom. It did take us seeing 3 rooms until they got it right, as we had requested and paid for a king sized bed. The only complaint that we had, was a missed wake up call. The manager was very sorry and even brought us our own alarm clock so that we wouldn't have to worry the next time we needed one. They also sent us a bottle of wine, so the mistake was easily forgiven and forgotten. we will definitely stay there again and we are fussy about our hotel rooms. The high price of internet access bothered us, but there is a computer for guests to use.

Room Tip: Keep trying until they get it right

This is a great new hotel right in midtown Manhattan. Had the pleasure of staying here for three nights in late October and I can't say enough good things about it. Impeccably clean, comfortable rooms, attentive staff and a real good bar/ restaurant.
