Hi all just pack from paddys week at the pennsylvania hotel. At first I was petrified to stay here following some harrowing reviews, I like my style and comfort but was looking for a place to rest my head and On a budget. This hotel has simply the best location In NYC, the rooms although dated are very clean with sheets changed every day even weekends including fresh towels, loads of channels on the tv and super speed wifi in rooms There are no bed bugs like some people stated on this I believe they got them from the company they brought home on a probable drunkin night out. It's a big hotel and very busy but to be honest it gives you the New York vibe from the moment you enter which I loved. Times Square is a 5 min walk, Macy's is next door, broadway the Empire State all within a 5 min walk. There is shops and a restaurant in the hotel and madison square garden is literally across the road. We came here to get pissed, shop till we dropped and sleep well in between with no noise which is exactly what we got. So don't take the other reviews to seriously they are either stuck up or nothin better to do than complain, so what the paint on the walls is a bit old I personally don't rub myself against walls so it didn't effect me. So book the pennsylvania have a ball and enjoy New York City. P.s for the complainers the hotel is trying to get permission to do the hotel up for several years now but are having problems doing so they too want to renovate... Another tip bring ur passport to Macy's if ur European and u get an extra 10percent. All the best doctor D

The location is best right pop to penn station and walking distance to Times Square. Rooms size is quite small... Wifi only comes at lobby level... Which is difficult in this business world...

It's a oldest hotel even the room doors are old as 1914....

But a great hotel,,, love to stay they again,,,

While this lodging is perfectly adequate, including efficient staff and reasonable enough rooms, the hotel feels like it is trying to serve modern-day customers with 1940's facilities. The bathrooms and showers are inconsistent with pressure and temperature, the rooms are tired, and the common areas pedestrian. The price is right, however, and the location is excellent as it is directly across from Penn Station.

moved to this location for 4 nights from something gross downtown so almost by default it was going to be better. having said that it was a great location, big room (in need of a bit of attention) and did I mention great location? was booked in by a very nice agent and the house keeping staff were nice. tried to call the front desk a few times and no one answered. upon check out after waiting in line for about 20 mins another guest cut in line and the customer service agent helped him!! I explained why she shouldn't have done that and she ignored me. later that day I would say the wait to check in/out was at least 40 mins! they needed more help. did I mention the location was great!? :)

The price is amazing for the location you get walking distance to all tourist attractions. Rooms basic but clean and somewhere to rest at the end of a busy day. Asked to be checked in early as we arrived just after one which they had no problem with and check out took five minutes. The staff that I spoke to were all pleasant. Good budget hotel for NYC

Okay, I wanted a fairly cheap hotel, but do yourself a favor and pay an extra 50 bucks a night. The first night I swear I was bitten by multiple fleas. The second night I took a shower and found a TICK on myself!! I thought it was little scab, I picked it and it had legs. Oh my god - I am so disgusted. Im still here in NYC staying at the hotel. it is prepaid, so Im sort of screwed for another couple of days..

It is in a great location - but oh my god this place is so gross. The room is dirty, old stinky carpet.. the beds are horribly uncomfortable. The internet sucks.

The room itself is HUGE with a tiny 12 inch tube tv half a mile away. Someone, please, buy this place and make it nicer.. With huge rooms like these, you could really make it nice.. I just cannot excuse bugs in a hotel.. especially ones that can actually hurt people like fleas and ticks. Im going to have to go home and bathe in RID. You should NOT have to check yourself for fleas and ticks at the end of a hotel stay.

The location is tremendous-across from Penn station, the place is clean and the water is hot if you let it run long enough. It is not the most fancy, but for budget minded people, it works so very well...The train to the plane from Penn Station saves a lot of cash and is so convenient.
