Due to an emergency at the small home we booked at, the agency we worked with sent us to this nightmare of a hotel. The lobby was fine but the room itself honestly should have been condemned. First off, it smelled like cheap disinfectant. In hindsight, it may have been pesticide because I've heard that they have one of the worst bedbug problems in the city. Huge cracks in the walls and ceiling and worst of all, a peeling, rusty, filthy bathtub. Thick dust on the mirrors, in the corners, and coating the heating unit. All of the vents were choked by dust balls. They had removed the headboard and something large on the wall of the bathroom leaving gaping holes and toggle bolts. The bed was like a rock, the pillows were old and creepy as were the sheets and towels. Between the bed, the loud street noise coming from the uninsulated windows and the broken heater which made the room stifling hot, we hardly slept at all which spoiled our first day of a two-day romantic NYC getaway. My husband took pictures of the room to show that we weren't exaggerating. We left as soon as the sun came up. I honestly wouldn't board a dog at this place. I'm AMAZED that the board of health doesn't shut it down.
