“What a great addition to the neighborhood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

This place, named after a well know ice cream parlor in Havana, Cuba, isn't famous for its ice cream but rather for its affordable and awesome food, served 24 hours a day. The Cubano sandwich is huge and the best I ever tasted. Pulled pork (pernil) piled on crisp cuban bread toasted in a press. To complement the pernil, the sandwich has swiss cheese, mustard and pickle slices. The rest of the menu, especially the all day breakfast, is equally as fine. The fries are wonderful, the guacamole fantastic and Coppelia has just about the best pastry chef in town.

The staff is professional yet warm and mostly really good looking. Hey, eye candy is calorie free.

You will leave Coppelia sated, happy and not much poorer.

“Best Cuban Restaurant in NYC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

The food is great and the restaurant is modestly priced. This is my favorite restaurant for lunch or dinner.

“Maravilhoso!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

We were staying in an apartment about 4 doors down and had walked by this place several times. On one particularly cold evening during our November Thanksgiving stay, we decided to just come down here since we didn't have to walk far. We are so glad we did! Warm welcome and we were lucky to get a booth. One thing that takes a little getting used to, is how close tables are at NYC restaurants, especially the smaller ones. Sometimes, you're practically in the other diner's lap...lol!

I read a couple reviews and really wanted to try the mac n' cheese with chicharron. Which we ordered as an appetizer. Creamy cheese sauce and crispy chicharron! I ordered their version of eggs benedict and the partner ordered the arroz con pollo. Mine came with a spicy hollandaise and spicy home fries. The partner's was a large bowl of moist chicken tossed with the rice. Both were very tasty. We also had a reasonably priced Malbec from Alhambra and this wonderful carrot cake with mascarpone and manchego buttercream.....MMMmmmm!

The service was very friendly and I'm just sorry we didn't take advantage of this place more. It can get pretty loud when it's crowded, so if you're looking for a quiet intimate evening, either go early before the rush, or go elsewhere.

“Great food, friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We went there twice with our kids during our stay in New York. We loved the food - a good range of cuban and south american influenced food. The staff were very friendly. Great value. We were there early evening, but it looked liked it would be a be a fun place for a late night drink.
