“They like you, they really like you.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2012

Modeled after a Havana coffee shop, this place serves up some very delectible fare and doesn't break the bank. I have been here many many times for brunch, lunch and dinner, Best ribs and oh, that corn on the cob is incredible.

Some of the best burgers in the city. Great fries. Excelent egg dishes served all day. Try authentic roast pork (pernil) or the succulent ropa vielja (shredded beef with wonderful seasonings).

Speaking of succulent, the staff is some of the best male and female eye candy in the city. And they really like you and are glad you came in. You feel the welcome vibe as soon as you step into the place usually met with Celia Cruz or many other Spanish artists.

Full bar and open 24/7 with good handicap access.

Top quality. Great staff. Fab food. Moderate to low prices. Whaqt more is there?

“14th street treasure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2012

What an incredible discovery this gem is! It is cozy, clean and filled with distinctive character. The Cuban influence is evident in many of the sandwiches and egg dishes. Huevos rancheros was exceptional, with homemade tomatillo salsa, and the blue corn pancakes were a standout. Unlike some places in the village, this one uses REAL maple syrup. And, it's open 24/7.

“Don't Let Exterior Fool You”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2012

Don't let the exterior of this place, on busy W 14th St between pizza shops, fool you. It's truly fantastic.

The food is a latin take on American diner-style eating. The atmosphere is buzzing, the people are local an interesting, and the food is delicious.

Sit at the bar for a real New York experience, watch the chefs, and listen to the lively interaction between the staff.

Highly recommended: "Cubano" sandwich of a sort of spiced pulled-pork, ham, cheese and pickles on a toasted ciabatta. Delicious! Oh, and freshly squeezed juiced.

Ideal for brunch or lunch when travelling, and I felt very comfortable eating solo.

“Good food, good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2011

Coppelia is a small, unpretentious Cuban restaurant in Chelsea. The food is good - cubano sandwiches, huevos rancheros and the like. The service is fast and friendly and it is a very good value. Recommended.

“Taken by Suprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2011

Recently discovered this little Latino restaurant on 14 St., right off 7th. Ate here several times over the past couple of weeks -the food is just that good. Somewhat set up like a diner that includes counter seating, but more modern with an attentive staff. Food displays a Cuban take on any dish, with the ones I tried tending to be on the hearty side. Never ordered a dessert, but they look fresh & fabulously decadent. Only one drawback, but that seems to be improving: kitchen tends to be a little slow on having the food come out.
