“Solid choice all around”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

My wife and I stayed here for a night away, and it was pretty perfect. We're native New Yorkers so the idea of staying in a hotel in our former home town was a bit awkward. But, this fit the bill. It is a in a great location with a hip but not too over the top vibe. The front desk people were friendly and professional and even provided a complimentary glass of champagne to my wife when she checked in. We booked a standard room which was pretty small, but it was clean and quiet and if you're in NYC, the city is where you want to be.

This is a good choice for any visitors from any where. I'm sure that the more expensive rooms would offer more space if needed.

Stayed overnight for a short trip and was pleasantly surprised by what a nice small hotel this was. The check in process was painless, complete with valet service for the car. The complementary glass of champagne also helped to take the edge off! Very friendly and helpful staff. We were lucky enough to get a city view room on a high floor with a great view of the Freedom Tower. The room was small but decorated in a fun and funky decor. Stainless steel bathroom vanity with places to store supplies was a nice touch. There was some noise from the atrium lobby, but not bad at all for a Saturday night. Convenient walking distance to restaurants, galleries and shops.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor and facing Avenue of the Americas for the best view.

First booked a hotel outside Manhattan, closer to the airport but changed our minds last minute and booked Tribeca Grand Hotel. We did not regret this! Amazing hotel with awesome artwork on throughout the lobby and bar. Rooms are modern and clean. The bed was amazing, best sleep of our vacation! Close to the subway to go uptown or to the airport (line E takes you right to Jamaica centre to get on the Airtrain to JFK) No breakfast included but Starbucks is right around the corner and you'll find a Dunkin Donuts right down the street for your morning fix.

Hotel was in a good location, really close to SoHo shopping. When we arrived they gave us a glass of complimentary champagne. Staff was very friendly. Lobby and bar scene had a DJ going in the afternoon and it was packed. Rooms are clean, cool art throughout, very trendy. The only thing that was a little weird for us was that there was NO ONE over 25 or 30 in the whole place. I felt like I was on college spring break. Other than that, we really liked our stay. Not a lot of nightlife in the area unless you go to SoHo.

This was my second stay at this hotel. It's a fun and cool hotel right on the border of Tribeca and Soho. Interesting architecture in the soaring lobby harkens to the industrial nature of lower Manhattan in years gone by. Comfortable rooms, and a pretty good size (read: still pretty small but not tiny) for a NYC hotel. VERY friendly front desk staff. I also had a late quick sandwich in the lounge---pretty good grilled chicken with great fries. Don't forget to ask about a companion goldfish!

Two minor complaints: Rather dark lighting, overall, which may or may not enhance your impression of the place. The very comfortable lounge is right in the middle of the eight-story open-air lobby but the noise can seep upstairs later at night.

This has become by hotel of choice in NY. I prefer lower Manhattan and rarely go above the Flatiron District. Washington Park, Chelsea, West and East Village, Soho, TriBeCa, Bowery, Battery Park, etc, all within walking distance. I stayed in a corner room that has a large wonderful bathroom with huge window and lots of light. The room size is large for NY standards and there are again large windows that give natural light. Staff was very friendly. Very clean and comfortable.

I love this hotel. It has a great vibe without being pretentious. The staff are very pleasant and helpful going out of their way to make sure that your requirements are met. The rooms are a decent size and the location is fab, within waliking distance of Soho, Little Italy, China town, the Piers and Ground Zero.

The area is trendy with lots of places to eat and classy bars without being too touristy and noisy.

The only irritation was that thetaxi drivers don't seem to be able to find it - but once we gave the location as Church Street with Walker as the cross street this helped. I will certainly return and recommend - this hotel is a gem!
