“wonderful room shame about the lobby”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

I have read the reviews and am surprised no one has mentioned the mismatch between the lovely rooms and the rest of the facilities. You walk through a passage to get to the hotel and take a lift up to the reception area. The reception area, bar and restaurant have certainly seen better days. The fabric sofas are dirty and the tables scuffed through wear. The restaurant is quite informal and is separated from the bar by partitions.

The staff are extremely friendly but not slick, polished uniformed staff you might expect in a high end establishment.

Our room was quiet but our friends experienced disturbances from noisy neighbours.

Great efficencies like room for coffee maker and ice bucket under the counter, reading lights to spotlight single side of the bed, and excellant lighting in the bathroom. Looking forward to another visit!

Just returned from our vacation at the Hilton Times Square and it was a great hotel in a good location.

Checkin was instant which was great as we arrived early, also friendly and efficient. The rooms are large for a city hotel, good views, clean and furnished to a good standard. Although located on one of the busiest streets no noise could be heard in the room. Only slight issue was with the adjoining room you can hear the guests quite clearly so not great if there is a noisy bunch next door.

If I have one real complaint it would be breakfast. The food was quite good, yes there wasn't a big choice but sufficient for breakfast the problem was with the service. No matter if it was busy or not you were left standing for sometimes 15min for a table. Service was slow, orders took forever, tables needed to be cleared, waiting on food to be replenished in the buffet. The manageress never appeared to address any of these obvious issues.

I would however stay in this hotel again and recommend it to others overall a good choice just avoid breakfast if you are in a hurry!

Stayed at the Hilton for 3 nights during our stay in New York City, first off location was fantastic couldn't really beat it. The girl who checked us in was really lovely and our check in was efficient and smooth. After being at a previous hotel were the concierge was super helpful and nice we found the hilton a let down, we felt as if the concierge was not interested in helping us and it was as if we were bothering them and that they had better things to do. The room itself was spacious and had a great view we stayed in a room with two queen beds and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. We would stay here again just hopefully next time the concierge is a little friendlier and a little more helpful.

Just arrived moments ago to the Hilton times square and we could not be happier. Amazing service so far. Chad Nathan, the front office manager, was extremely helpful with great client service. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. We just arrived and already had a great experience, can't wait for the rest of our stay at Hilton Times Square.

Very pleasant stay at the Hilton Times Square recently. The porters which are the first to greet you were great. Check in was a breeze. Had a corner room and it was wonderful, spacious (very large for NYC) and soundproof. Staff was very helpful. Excellent location, few blocks to TKS, subway only a short walk, Cake Boss and Port Authority half a block. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here while working in NYC. By NY standards, the rooms are enormous. I had an unobstructed beautiful view of the East river and Empire State building. My TV was at least 45 inches. Nice bed, huge closet with double doors, lots of drawer space. The lighting in the bathroom was fantastic. I wished I really looked that good.
The lobby is very plain, but hey, I don't sleep in the lobby. The location is bustling but I could not hear a thing in my room. The subway is practically next door and you can walk to lots of attractions. I did need to have the A/C on all the time to keep the room cool and the outside temperature was only in the 60's at night.
The breakfast buffet was adequate; nearly the same everyday but had eggs and sausage and bacon. You can ask for an omelet or eggs cooked your way. There is no way to toast anything. The drinks at the lobby bar are priced how you would expect in NY. Wine about $13-$15. There are entrances on both 42nd and 41st. The 41st street side is best for getting into or out of taxis as that is where the doormen are.
I would highly recommend this hotel
