“Fab location, spacious room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

This was my second trip with my hubby to NYC. I am glad he chooses this hotel. We stayed for 6 nights.
We were situated on the 32 nd floor and had a great city view. The room was spacious. There was a lot of room to move around. The last hotel we stayed in there was barely any room to move around.
The staff was very friendly and always ready to assist.
My pet peeve, is that room service comes way too early. They are knocking on your door before 9am. The worst was knocking on the door before 9am on Sunday morning. So definitely put your DND sign on the door if planning to sleep in.
Applebee's is situated right below Nd open for breakfast from 7 am. This gives you an even wider choice.
It was great to be able to just walk to the attractions and not have to worry about the commute
Overall, this hotel, was a great stay.

Had an excellent time! Right in the middle of Times Square so everything was in walking distance. So cheap, clean and the staff was so nice. The rooms were a decent size too!! I would definetly stay here again!

this is a very good hotel on 42nd street right by TImes Square. The staff is very helpful. Rooms are well appointed, clean and quiet. We have stayed at several hotels in the area, and this one is one of the best. It is a very busy hotel with many guests that ask a lot of questions, so the staff can get worn out at certain times of the day. Enjoy staying at a hotel with international travelers. They are enjoying all that NYC has to offer.

This hotel is in the heart of downtown New York and within walking distance to everything! The only thing is you will be paying for everything. The cost of the room is for location only. The amenities are so so. They do not provide any complimentary breakfast but they do have beautiful rooms.

Our stay started fantastically with Peter A checking us in (early!). He was super helpful, VERY VERY nice, and a great guy to have at the front desk as the first person you meet! Peter was very enthusiastic and it was definitely contagious. He very excitedly told me that I had a room on the 42nd floor of a 44 floor building and that the view would be really neat. I got excited off his excitement and gave him a high five!

The room was pretty spacious for a NYC hotel, and in a great location. Our room was on the 42nd floor, and it was a great view :) Everything was very nice. The only complaint I had was that the cleaning staff started coming around and knocked on our door at 8:30am! make sure you put your "privacy" up if you don't want to be woken on. I believe there might be some construction going on, as well, because I heard some hammering around 10am. I yelled for them to stop it and it stopped. I told the front desk, and they were very apologetic and offered us breakfast. Overall, I think the stay was made much better because of the helpful and super friendly staff.

Stayed at the Hilton Times Square for three nights. The hotel was very nice - no complaints at all about the room quality or the personnel. Great view of the city - probably the best view I've had at any of the 7+ hotels I've stayed at.

Not sure that I loved the location though. When in NYC I generally end up heading north most days. Given that the hotel is south of Times Square, it meant more walking every day. And the hotel lobby is on roughly the 21st floor of the building, so you have to take one elevator up to the lobby and then another elevator to your room. It didn't take long to go from the street to the room, but the double elevator system got slightly annoying by the third day.

Internet wasn't free/included, which always bugs me when the less expensive Hilton properties don't charge at all for it.

Only other annoying thing was the height of the sink. I was there with a 5-year-old. He was not tall enough to brush his teeth in that sink, so I had to awkwardly hold him. Would be great for them to have a stool or something there. I saw many other families with young children at the hotel, and would guess that most of them had the same issue with the counter height?

In a recent long weekend in NYC with the family, it became the break most parents dread! Firstly the wife came down with stomach flu the night we arrived, followed by our 6 year old the next night. The staff at the hotel at 3am were brilliant! they took care of everything. The next day we decided to cut our break short & get home ASAP with our two children. Once again the staff at the hotel really took care of us and were extremely supportive given our situation. I stay in many hotels around the world on a regular basis and the front desk and night staff were the best I have encountered in a long time. If service is important to you - I really recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Travelling with kids - pay the extra and get adjoining rooms.
