“Re: wonderful wedding stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

We had our family and other guests stay at the hotel for our son's wedding which was at another venue. The staff could not be lovelier. Big Thanks to the staff at the Conrad NY. The rooms were incredibly confortable. The area the hotel is located, Battery Park City was wonderful for visitors of all ages. Restaurant options and things to do were right outside our door. The Ambience is extremely modern and gorgeous especially the river views and modern art and design in hotel. Very cool vibe and comfortable! Loved it.

This was my second stay at the Conrad New York. We love the location (close to subway, downtown attractions, plus several restaurants within a 2-3 block radius.) A perfect choice when wanting an upscale location away from the noise and crowds of midtown. The two-room suites are worth the upgrade if you are travelling with a small group as they have plenty of room for entertaining.

Room Tip: Suites are nice and have extra room for entertaining.

Stayed for just a night and enjoyed the facility and staff. This is a recently renovated property and the rooms and facilities are quite modern. The staff in every facility and in every service was uniformly outstanding. Two items to remember - cab drivers not familiar with this address so be prepared to provide major cross streets and leave some extra time to get a cab at the entrance as the availability is, at times, limited.

I was really looking forward to staying in this hotel to round up my New York State adventure and when I arrived with my husband, we were both impressed by the lavish building and modern decor. Our room, too, was excellent with separate sleeping, living and kitchen areas. In fact my only warning about the room is that the door on the toilet is opaque glass with slight gapping when fully closed which might be awkward in the early stages of a relationship. However, where this hotel lost its edge was on the service it provided. On our first night, we had to wait over an hour for some extra milk sachets to be brought up with no apology for the delay, just a slightly crestfallen look at the lack of tip. On our second evening, we went to try and find a bar recommended by the hotel, only to find our that it had shut the month beforehand. Moreover, when we came down for our breakfast the next day, we had to wait over twenty minutes to be seated and then were told that our inclusive breakfast was limited to one of six choices on the menu. When paying over £300 a night for the hotel, an all inclusive breakfast was certainly expected. My main issue about the hotel, is that when you pay for a five star experience, you want to feel special. I left feeling ripped off.

I would stay again since the location and the hotel are great. The people working there are another story, if you have an issue, the front desk will brush you off. It's extremely frustrating. I am originally from NYC, so people using the excuse that they are from NYC and have an attitude, is not an excuse.

Spouse and I used credit card-related certificate for Saturday night stay. Being Hilton Diamonds we were assigned high floor room facing Hudson River - amazing views with wonderful lighting. In early morning the rising sun gives a glorious golden glow to the glass-fronted high rise buildings on the New Jersey side of the river.

Everything in the room worked well, water was hot, towels were large and fluffy. Staff was friendly in a professional manner. As it was warm on the afternoon of our arrival, we enjoyed two rounds of drinks (a bit expensive) on the rooftop bar. Also with view overlooking the river. Only drawback was a not-so-great breakfast.

The lobby entrance is quite amazing with its blue lighting. (Recently featured very briefly in a scene from "Elementary" television program.) Location is a bit far west, but does afford one the opportunity of strolling along riverbank to Battery Park. It was a pleasant, peaceful way to start a sunny Sunday morning. Many locals jogging, walking dogs, bike riding with children, etc.

We knew this property when it was an Embassy Suite, pre-9/11. The transformation is remarkable.

Room Tip: Ask for upgraded view and high floor.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share this review of your one-night stay at the Conrad New York. Although you and your spouse were here only briefly, I am pleased to know it was a memorable visit. I'm glad you enjoyed our Downtown location, contemporary design and guest suite's amenities & features. We apologize for your dissatisfaction in the breakfast at the hotel but hope you will give it another try on your next visit. We hope to see you again soon!

This the 3rd time I have stayed at this hotel over the last 3 years. The hotel has undergone a large refurbishment and the rooms have been done to a good standard of comfort and decor. Bathrooms are spacious and well appointed. Very comfortable beds and I generally have had a quality nights sleep. The only negative I have on the room is they provide tea but don't provide a kettle only a coffee maker which if you use to get hot water still tastes of coffee. Where this hotel falls down is on lack of friendly or helpful staff mostly in the bar and restaurant. I found the staff at breakfast can be quite rude and if you ask for anything you are made to feel like you are putting them out. They had no breakfast tea only earl gray or peppermint which seems bonkers. The food itself is brilliant but it surprises me that they expect to be tipped 20% but the service is appalling. I know people that come to NY regularly on business and now will not stay at the Conrad because of its unfriendliness and would prefer to pay a bit extra and walk a bit further to have a more pleasant stay. This is a great shame as the hotel could be very good and it's in a great location.
