“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

We had a fantastic time at the Conrad. The hotel suited us perfectly as we wanted to be away from the crowds. Travelling as a family with two older children, the accommodation was perfect due to the sofa bed in the lounge area. Although not the cheapest hotel, this taken into account, reduced the cost of our stay.
We cannot find any fault with the service in the hotel, all staff being charming and helpful. The decor and standard of the rooms is exceptional but perhaps not to everyone's taste.
Would return in an instant.

Thank you so much for sharing this review regarding your recent stay at the Conrad New York. We are pleased to hear you had a memorable visit with us and that our guest suite was accommodating to you and your family's travel needs. Having that extra space along with a pull-out sofabed and sliding doors really helps families like yourself avoid having to book a second room. We are thrilled to know you would return in an instant, and look forward to welcoming you on your next visit to NYC!

Best Regards,
Jimmy

The hotel is located in a vibrant neighborhood. There are lots of people around, including many families with children. The walk along the waterfront is beautiful and safe; full of dog walkers and joggers. Blue Smoke is a great bbq restaurant located just outside the hotel. We also ate at the Shake Shack for a quick meal; it was good! The hotel is nicely decorated; the staff is very pleasant and helpful. I have just one complaint: the bathroom in the room is odd. There is very little privacy as there is only a glass partition between the toilet and living room. There is a glass swinging door that does not close completely leading into the toilet or shower (they are 2 separate spaces). To shower, you have to close both glass partitions into the living room and bedroom, unless you know your other guests well enough to step out of the shower au naturel into the hallway! I prefer an old fashioned bathroom, toilet and shower together, with a door that closes completely so I can shower, dress, and then open the door. Other than the odd bathroom arrangement, the hotel was fine.

Just stayed at the Conrad in Tribeca NYNY. Beautiful art, Great staff, Near lots of great stuff and transportation. Modern decor with great amenities like the daily newspaper and an espresso machine in the room. Love the suite and huge shower. Comfortable beds and great temperature controls. Espresso maker is a little hard to get the hang of but that was the only "negative" if you want to call it that. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed for just one night in the Conrad. On arrival our toilet was plugged, which was quickly fixed by staff. But in a hotel of this price class I don"t expect this to happen at all... well, having a Nespresso machine in the room was a nice touch. Unfortunately room service didn't put the the three capsules indicated (two regular ones and one decaf) but two decaf and one regular coffee. We realized when it was too late... The shower was great, the room very quiet and everything pretty clean. Some parts of the furniture appeared to be of too cheap material for the class the hotel wants to play in.

All in all we had a nice stay and I would go there again.

The Conrad is a very stylish and modern hotel. Location was great.

Upon checkin we were upgraded to a suite with a river view which was a nice surprise. The suites were very large and had everything you would need while on business or vacation.

The front room was spacious with couch, chair, coffee table, and a desk. There was even a nespresso machine in the room for coffee. I would be happy to work from this room everyday if I had the choice. All the light switches were on touch panels throughout the suite plus you could control the light settings from the tv which was cool.

The bedroom offered a 2nd tv, large cabinets and closets and a very comfy bed. The walk in shower room was a first for me and a great experience to have. Lastly the view was stunning as the sun set each evening with views of Jersey city across the water.

If you want to be near Battery Park and the river, this location is great. Excellent service, relaxing, fun lobby for people watching, very good gym, cool vibe. Nice restaurant and bar. Value is very good. Convenient to shops, casual and upscale dining. I'll be back.

Room Tip: I'd pay a little extra and get one with a river and skyline view

We were attending an event at the brand-new Barlcay Center in Brooklyn. All in all it took us about 15 minutes to walk to the subway, and then another 20 minute ride to BC...when you walk up the steps from the subway, you pretty much walked right into the Barclay Center. We chose a package from the Conrad that included self-parking . The bellman helped us unload our bags and directed us to the 2nd floor for check-in. The parking garage is a block away, not far at all. It was a windy, windy day, and being across from a ferry terminal made it seem even windier! But, the water views, and the view of Jersey are lovely.
We took the escalator to the 2nd floor, a large, very open area which housed a restaurant, meeting/ballrooms, the concierge and elevators. The gift shop and entrance to the gym/spa are also located on the lobby floor. Additionally, there is a coffee shop. The opposite end of the escalators provided access to a movie theater and a "courtyard" filled with shops and restaurants.
There is a sculpture that reaches from the lobby to the 25th floor, it was unique and awe inspiring. The blue cooling/calming colors set the mood for the hotel. Check-in took a little while, but was worth the wait. We were given a suite on the 25th floor. All rooms in the hotel are suites, with a separated living room. We had a sofa and lounge chair and ottoman and triangular table in our living room, and a desk and chair. The 'hallway' between the living room and bedroom consisted of a bathroom and separate walk in shower, opposite side was wet bar, with glasses and coffee cups and coffee maker and mini-bar. There is a tag in the fridge that charges you $25 for removing any items. You could close off the living room from the hallway with pocket doors...there was pocket doors separating the bedroom from the hallway too. Even though we had a show to go to, once I put on my robe, I did not want to leave the room....the robe was fluffy inside and cottony on the outside and it just enveloped me (I felt that way about the room too....I just didn't want to leave).
The bedroom was small, but held 2 separate closets, a tv and king sized bed and a spectacular view of the water. We wanted to keep the blinds up, but we were told they were broken. The wall separating the bedroom from the shower was frosted glass. Bed was comfortable. There are controls on the wall that operate the lights and for privacy. There is also one located as you enter the room and one near the wet-bar. You just push a button if you don't want to be disturbed....
We ordered BBQ from Blue Smoke and they delivered it within 20 minutes. HHonors members get a continental breakfast, juice, danish/rolls and coffee OR...you could apply that $20 towards anything on the menu. I had eggs and toast. It was a nice start to the day.
Oh--ice....you have to call for it, no machines on any floors. When I did I was told it would take around 30 minutes, I went to the bar and just got it myself. The elevator had a smoky glass wall which made it fun to use or watch those that were in it! Yes, there is a huge amount of open space, welcoming to some, a waste to others. I loved it! The artwork, loopy-doopy...loved it, and take the time to realize it's not only in your room, but throughout the hotel. Aside from breakfast, we didn't eat in any of the hotel restaurants.
Being a heartbeat away from the World Trade Center/Twin Towers made us take a moment and reflect. If you choose the Conrad, you won't be sorry.

Room Tip: ask for a water view
