“Never thought of trying out a B&B in NYC!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

The hotel we were staying in didn't have availability my first night in the city so I thought I would venture off the beaten path. So glad I did. Lived in Hoboken in the 80's and this is not the Harlem of old. I felt perfectly safe. The buildings are wonderful old brownstone walk ups. And all the rooms are precious, with nice beds, tv's, and newly tiled bathrooms. My room was quite large with vaulted ceilings, big windows, a ceiling fan, a fire place, etc. Home made cookies and a nice note from the owners greet you when you arrive.

Though breakfast is not included...you might get lucky and get invited to share coffee and muffins with the owner in the morning which is a nice surprise!

Room Tip: I had room 0 and loved it. Contact the owner directly to get a room in her brownstone.

If you want to really experience New York, then this is an ideal place to stay. The building was truly unique, spotless and in such an interesting area of Harlem. Nothing was too much trouble, even down to home made choc cookies in our room on arrival. The bed was the most comfortable that I have ever slept in...highly recommended!

Stayed here at the end of April/early May. Good location, just a couple of minutes walk from the metro station and just 20 minutes or so into Times Square. Room was very nice with private toilet and shower, and comfortable bed. Instructions for how to get there were very detailed and although the owner was away while I was there, she was very helpful via e-mail, responding very quickly. Would definitely stay here again.

Interesting. If you are looking for somewhere to stay and on a budget and want somewhere with a bit of colour then this is the place. The local facilities do take some working out but then again so does NY. Good for transport with plenty of options.

A very personal and nice place to stay. Georgia, the social and helpful hotelkeeper advises you on what to do and how to do it best. Read her papers and maps, you will not regret it!
This was my first visit to New York, and Mont Morris was a perfect start. The rooms are decorated in an artful mix of hipster, recycling, classic styles. Each room seems to be in a different genre.
Location in a nice part of Harlem, around the corner you find the subway, the Apollo theatre, great gospel-church.
