“Funky look, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

I wish I could live at the Yotel. I loved the "cabin" (room) with its bed/sofa. And I loved going to the galley in the evening for free hot chocolate. Each of the employees I encountered was super nice and helpful. The hotel gym is small, but I didn't encounter a wait to use any equipment.

Modern hotel next to Times Square, but far from noise. Cool atmosphere. Cabins are small and with little privacy, ideal for singles. Wi-fi free and 24h access to Galley, where you can find water and coffee for free. Breakfast with muffins and coffee included.
Very nice terrace, especially in summer.
Self-service check-in and check-out.
Don't miss Yobot to store your luggage before leaving!

Check in was a breeze. You walk in the lobby and head over to one of the computers and input your details then it spits out your key card. There are members of staff around though should you need assistance.

The Yobot is pretty cool - though I didn't use it during my stay here.

The concept of this hotel is pretty unique, yes the rooms, or should I say cabins are small, but it was fine for me. I loved the cabins!! The cabins was nice and clean and there was room for your luggage case to be tied to the wall. It has a nicely set up. I had the normal sized cabin and yes, it would have been a squeeze for two people, but you can easily get a bigger room if there are two people in the one room.

The bed rolls out electronically, which was pretty cool - which then folds back into a sofa.

There are no amenities in the room such as a kettle or anything, but each floor has a Gally, which you can get free drinks from (water, coffee and teas) which was pretty good.

You get complimentary wifi - which was fast.

The staff here were really nice, the guys downstairs in the lobby were really attentive, I asked for directions to local places and they were very passionate about providing excellent customer service. Going above and beyond what I expected. They got me maps, advised the best routes and all sorts. Unlike, some places they act as if they cannot be bothered telling you anything! But not Yotel! The staff on Control Room were very friendly too.

I ate at the their restaurant on-site, doyoho, and the food was nice and priced reasonably too. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. The bar area was very chilled too.

The hotel is located very near to the convention center and a few blocks away from Times Square.

There is a CVS across the road and should the restaurant be closed and you want a snack, there is a pizza joint a couple of minutes away from the hotel - as is a deli.

I stayed here with colleagues and whilst some said they couldn't sleep - be it the bed was too short for the tall folk or too hard, I have to say would definitely stay here again.

Yotel is situated in a great location near Javits Center and Time Square; It is contemporary in design and has a warm atmosphere. It is certainly a wow factor for the first time visitors as you walk into the front lobby and see the high-tech robotic bell captain and self check in stands(pretty hight tech); staff could be more knowledgable, we asked both the concierge and other staff to recommend a specific restaurant of choice and in both cases we were directed to walk to a certain area with lots of restaurants to choose from! Also, timeliness of delivering towels we called for with a follow up call was way too long... but overall a great hotel experience and would comeback for both business or personal.

Fantastic location for a short stay.We stayed 4 nights. All main attractions easily accessible on foot or by subway. Service and hospitality exemplary. Room and all facilities very clean. If you want really spacious rooms, this is not for you but if you want comfortable, clean, really cool and stylish space to sleep in after a day enjoying the sounds and sights of New york city, you will not be disappointed by Yotel.

Muffins and coffee freely available at breakfast time. Galley kitchen on each floor with microwave, fridge, free coffee/hot/choc/ tea and iced water available. This is a brilliant facility - if you don't fancy eating you can prepare your own snack. The Merci market grocery store just a few minutes walk up the street serves a hot and cold buffet to take away.

Room Tip: we tried to upgrade in advance but there was no availability. We were entirely satisfied with our...

No door to bathroom. Bed is worse than the futon you have in your first apartment. Thermostat doesn't work. Room is smaller than the cabins on cruises. Two people cannot comfortably share these stupid cabins. No amenities whatsoever. Modern is one thing. Futuristic is one thing. Utter discomfort is another... Concierge was not familiar with the area and appeared to be about 20 years old. No room service. No coffee in your room. No closet to hang clothes. No privacy. This is great for a young college crowd on a budget. Adults who wish to have comfort and amenities should look elsewhere.

Room Tip: If you are stuck here, get a premium cabin for a little extra space.

I was extremely pleased with the hotel for the most part. Loved the modern and hip look it captivatedl and the location offered spectacular views. I also enjoyed the culture of the hotel, it was young, vibrant and sexy. It was indeed New York. Only complaints I have is the room size. I'm all for quality over quantity and yes Yotel is quality but as far as square feet I needed more, seriously. If the rooms were bigger & if they had a longer check out time(compared to other hotels where I've experienced a 1pm checkout) I would stay there every night.
