“Watch and eat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

We sat down at the sushi counter and watched the chef prepare our food. My husband had the sashimi platter and I chose the lobster sushi. It was absolutely delicious. Never had tasted this combination and probably will have to return to this place to taste it again. The only disadvantage is that it is very crowded and you have to be very lucky to find a seat.

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

This was definitely one of our favourite stops in NYC. The food was delicious and very fresh. It was quite pricey but definitely worth it!

“The Sushi and Oysters, Very Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

Love the fresh oysters, specifically the tiny and so delicious kusshi oysters. Sushi was very simple but fresh, what more do you need out of quality fish but freshness.

“Amazing !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

this is not the usual half-red-lobster place. It is a full experience of super top quality sea food for an amazingly convenient price, from basic sandwiches up to fine cuisine, each plate is a joy.

“Hold on, the Lobster Place at Chelsea Market is more than just bright red lobster on the half shell.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

Just pushed away from the table after finishing an outstanding meal shared with family courtesy of the Lobster Place at Chelsea Market. They actually do a substantial retail business in fresh fish and seafood.

Dinner at home tonight tonight included wonderfully smelling platters of pan seared jumbo scallops on black squid ink linguini in a clam sauce and jumbo shrimp in garlic butter sauce on spinach papardelle in a spicy arrabiata sauce with arugala salad, red onions and baby tomatoes on the side. Copious shavings of padarno cheese over all. Washed down with a lovely bottle of red. Yum.

All seafood wonderfully fresh and courtesy of the Lobster Place. The pasta and sauce are from another venerable West Village institution, but that is another story.

The point is clear. the Lobster Place at Chelsea Market is far more than just a source of over creamed clam chowder and (let's face it) great split boiled lobster on the half shell eaten on your knees surrounded by throngs of tourists keen on getting theirs.
